@elsamars I don't know what your problem is, if you're just unhappy with Gaga or if it stems from something deeper, but I suggest you to stop taking it out on this forum because it has become concerning in the last few weeks. I know about the ignore option etc. but it's not something that I think helps people on here if in the background we keep rotting in this hateful attitude towards everything

I appreciate your suggestion but I'm not going to stop talking about what I believe in. I'm respectful to every member and I do not go against any forum rule. If people are really bothered about me voicing my opinion, as I've mentioned they can use ignored members options.

My point was also that ICE's actions aren't just racist and therefore targeted at Hispanic and Latino people. ICE is quite literally violating people's constitutional rights regardless of skin color or nationality  

The current push started under the guise of cracking down on undocumented immigrants but that's not what it is now at its core. It's an alt-right take over of a previously legitimate agency that's been littered with aggressive and untrained incels and nazis.

To reiterate, I just don't wanna see people regarding this issue as a "white nationalists vs immigrants" one 'cause it's more of "the alt-right/nazis vs all of us".

That thinking, to me, isolates Latino victims and excuses silent whites, even if that's not the intention behind the sentiment.

She's wearing an ICE Out Pin, she just spoke out about ICE in Tokyo and made headlines, she does charity work, she speaks out about trans rights, but they're still mad. I just don't get what they expect of her. One could say she should have spoken about Gaza last year, but that's about it. 

It's like they are nitpicking her every action and move, even when she actually does speak out on ICE and important issues. And at the end of the day, it's weird that they expect a celebrity to be an all around activist who only ever speaks on every single social issues. Look at politicians, Gaga or Beyonce or Taylor or Billie aren't changing the world.

Personally, I'd like something that's actually constructive 

Like, even if it's as simple as what Katy did, the knowledge, reminder of deadlines, and resources are valuable. Especially when they're spread by people with big platforms like that. 

The platitudes show her heart is in the right place but they're not exactly useful.

I keep telling the story of the petition she pushed at my JWT date to reinstate the voting rights of felons. We ended up getting that passed! And thousands of signatures came from her show.

I want more stuff like that tbh. Public, useful activism from an artist whose voice I regard highly.
