Gaga Performs Abracadabra (Rock Version) @ Grammys 2026

Watched over 5 times now but why do I feel like she's teasing new instrumental during the first verse, am I trippin or she's just trying new arrangement for Abra

She absolutely slayed the house down and when she went rocktastic during that bridge, I was reminded so much of theatrical Gaga all over again. This just goes to prove that she doesn't need choreography and backing dancers to make an impression. I just need her to stand there and belt out with raw talent and I'm sold. Yes, it was another televised Abra performance but it was what she was nominated for and she needs to remind the uninitiated that Abra is that bitch.

Why is this not on YouTube? I didn’t know where else to ask this but it’s driving me crazy. Does anyone have any information? Is it because YouTube is no longer important because it doesn’t report to billboard or because the Grammys are withholding the rights or CBS or what?

The way I can't stop watching it 

From the very first shot with her holding the cane, I knew it would be ****. 

Might actually be my favourite Abracadabra performance of them all.

How she managed to look so avant-garde, yet also like a deranged witch, fascinating. 

Literally obsessed. 

Gaga PLEASE release that version somehow

Here are some other minor details in this performance that people dont talk about much:

 - that abrupt end, i was expecting a long growl or explosive outro with guitars and drums.... but it just stopped and stage explosion effects (not too loud) in the end. At first i was like, whats with that sudden stop. But come to think of it, this is how it usually is for raw rock performances. It also made me scream within: "mooorreeee!!!"

- that long pause in the end, no movement... just Gaga being Gaga. While the Grammys is showing who is next, Gaga is still in position, still in pose, savoring the moment... and she does this a lot from her early years as a mainstream performer. I missed this so much. It was also funny at the same time bec i know Gaga is like, pls cut to the commercials already!!!!

- those lights behind her while shes doing the Abra choreo. That looks really awesome in a way that it really makes her a larger than life star! It feels so rock-star-ish!! As if the lights are also dancing with her. Even the camera panning here to there, is also a choreo.

- the organ/synthesizer. Gaga usually "dresses" her pianos or organs or keytars. But these 2 organs, they are as is. Raw. It really felt like i am in the studio jamming with this avante garde Gaga. I felt that despite her being intimidating looking, she is "inviting" people to her space, to her music, that we can jam with her and the band.

This has gotta be one of the coolest performances Gaga has done in years! High fashion, dark chaotic Mayhem energy on a minimal set. Full emphasis on the music. This is quintessential artistic Lady Gaga! Serving 80’s New Wave performances like the Eurythmics and Gary Newman, classic Glam Rock like David Bowie, visceral dark 90’s Metal and Industrial Rock like Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and even more alternative bands like Tool. All of which don’t need choreography and backing dancers, but just stand and perform as actual music artists.

To have her, front and centre on the deck and keyboard, leading the construction of the song as an actual musician is essential to the message she was conveying that night - to celebrate the female producer. And between two music legends, Ilan Rubin (from Nine Inch Nails) and Andrew Watt,...amazing. They became a real band for that performance. 

 

Oh and that “Ikea lamp shade”... original 2009 Alexander McQueen mate. Straight from 'The Horn of Plenty' collection. The level of art and fashion culture encapsulated in that look alone is mammoth.

 

Abracadabra may not be an Avant Garde song, but she transformed it into one with this performance. Emphasis of high fashion, alt music genres, the chaotic darkness of Industrial Rock and trippy 80's New Wave, visceral abstract performance art, the camera exploring angles of her body like a fashion photographer. Genius. I truly hope she does more stuff like this!
