Lame and disappointing. 

She really acts as if she hasn’t read a single news headline since 1/6th. 

The only issues we can count on her for are LGBT and anti-racism which is fine but we need to bizarrely stop anticipating her to speak on anything else… despite how illogical that is.

Unless that logic really is just brand retention.

EDIT: Not that pressed tho. Nurtec was way worse than this and we survived that.

I don't understand how this is any different than her flogging overpriced earphones or pointed creative director of a photography company to promote 3 different products (that never happened)

what's with the "old gaga is gone"? she was also happily taking checks for product endorsements back then... she's a pop superstar, it's part of the job, this thread is so baffling

Girl I've been here from the beginning I know of all that. It's different to promote products, self-promo, and receive funding from big brands, but finance, real estate and business is a different thing to attach your name to. Read the OP. Selling products is one thing but these things carry a lot more moral weight

the thing is that it wasn’t fun to drag Gaga at that time, unless she goes the Maga Minaj route, I don’t really care that much about these ads, we’ll forget about them in a couple of weeks 

Rememher the Nurtec thing, people were about to unstan but somehow they’re still here so let’s not be hypocrites 

Popstars can be woke or activists but I don’t think we will ever witness an anti-capitalism popstar, at least not in the same caliber as Gaga

I will say it’s massively different than the headphones and stuff bc early on she made it a point of these things being part of the brand Gaga. She was very hyper attentive to that.

again, though, using Mr Rogers’ song is more the issue for people, I think. It’s saying “the world is a little tricky rn how about a song :)” which feels a little tone deaf for someone who called out the president himself over gays in the military. It’s less the specific company and more that in lieu of anything meaningful (which she doesn’t have to do but has assumed such a title by her own desire), she makes a vague gesture with a song anyone can read anything into for a check from a random company lol

to be clear, I’m not bothered atp by her not speaking up bc that’s who I think she is now but for the reasons above I get why some might be
