A scripted satirical movie that is supposed to be about a documentary being made about Charli is an interesting idea. But a script that keeps saying how much cooler Charli is than everyone else could seem very cringe.

It’s not an usual tour film like The Eras Tour or Renaissance, there’s a comedy element to it which’s totally on brand for Charli, I don’t think a big commercial success is expected

That’s why it’s actually interesting imo. None of them save Madonna have made an actual interesting tour doc so why not have someone else outright take the piss out of it whose brand is less controlled (still is but not nearly as much/the chaos is baked into her brand). It’s more of a could have been bonkers and was a little shy of it. That’s okay. At least it was an interesting idea and attempt at something which I feel like these days a lot of popular cinema lacks

I mean a piss take band/singer doc has already been done. This is Spinal Tap... exists. 

And like, I just think Charli's brand lacks what is necessary to make an effective parody of a tour doc.

Sure! I haven’t seen it yet so idk I’m just saying it’s refreshing to see someone get their biggest acclaim and not crawl so far up their a$$hole you lose sight of them OR start making bland, safe, consumer tested to death art. She’s trying stuff! I’ll never fault a gal for trying something outside their established wheelhouse (even if it exists already at another point in time lol)

On paper the idea sounded so cool (still gonna watch it). It was supposed to be mockumentary with thriller elements using some footage from backstage of her tour. I imagined exploration of the blunt reality of popstar behind curtains, dark humor and absurd acting of the 360 MV.

Now I wonder what is the final product, but currently there is no screening in my country.
