I mean, I think this could easily just mean her extended family (her in laws).

She's also about to get married (or already has) so she's adding a whole second set of parents and whoever else that man is bringing to the party

It could mean a lot of things but since she’s engaged and probably constantly makes new friends I suspect it’s that. She considers her friends she works with family to a point after all

In laws, Michael’s nieces and other family members probably. Maybe to an extent future family

This makes me wonder if Ga goes to Bar Mitzvahs since Michael’s family is Jewish, especially since she’s come from a Catholic background. Family meetups probably are fun :ladyhaha:

I mean lbr, Gaga grew up on the UWS, did musical theatre, and works in the entertainment industry. We can’t be acting like she hasn’t had heavy exposure to Jewish people :ladyhaha:

For all we know she had a surrogate mother and has a kid already or on the way. I mean she is kinda getting close to a age where being pregnant herself becomes more and more difficult. To he fair, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a kid already behind the scenes

It is depends entirely on his level of religious observance and the denomination of Judaism he identifies with (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, or Secular). Cos Orthodox or Conservative, a formal conversion (giyur) is generally required for you to marry, as these branches do not recognize intermarriage. So if Michael and his fam are either of these two, Gaga will have to convert from Catholic to Judaism to be able to marry.

Also, according to traditional Jewish law (Halakha), Jewish identity is matrilineal. So, if you do not convert, your children will not be considered Jewish by Orthodox or Conservative communities, this means their future children will not able to inherit riches from their dad and dad's side. Though civil law, (secular wills, Israel's Law of Return for citizenship), often overrides this, creating potential conflicts and necessitating halachic wills.

Sorry, if I'm got into deep about this. I've been in very serious steps with someone who is Jew once upon a time, that I studied Judaism so I can convert, and thought this might be informative :ororomunroe:  :flower:

Would anyone really be surprised if she is pregnant? She has mentioned wanting to be a mum multiple times now

Dozens of times since 2008, really, and she seems to be ready now

I don’t think anyone would actually be surprised, but definitely mega happy for her

This is so weird… why tf should anyone convert if they don’t even believe :saladga: Like what’s the point? Not only do I find it f*cked up, but it makes no sense to me, like religion is supposed to be about being convinced, not forced or approved

(not criticizing people who convert for love, but those who dictate those rules)
