smitherz 2,436
I can deal with Bad Bunny or Kendrick winning things over Gaga, but Manchild/Man’s Best Friend beating Gaga in any category is laughable. She had a great year last year, but this album is a chop.

LadyEnigma 1,347
YES my biggest issue is MBF as well like the album was good don't get me wrong but GRAMMYS FOR THE BIG AWARDS IS CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYY like Manchild over Abra Luther or The Subway is bonkers then you have MBF over Gaga Kendrick Bad Bunny AND TYLER (Chromakopia and DTTG were GREAT) which would also be insane to me. Bronco 16,393
I think the thing we have to recognise is that Mayhem hasn't really impacted the GP all that much. Critically acclaimed, loved by the fans. But outside of DWAS, the numbers for Mayhem haven't been been blockbuster levels. And lets face it, the traditional voter behaviour of the Grammys has always given more love to commercial darlings over critical darlings (unless Beyonce is nominated). The way that the Grammy’s shifted from being so elitist that pop stars and rock acts basically never even got nominated to them becoming the VMAs 2.0 is so wild lmao. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why they don’t just try to strike a healthy middle ground to try to keep viewership and interest up without diluting the prestige and value of the awards themselves lol We have forgotten our public MANNERS

The demographic breakdown there will most likely favor him. It’s his award to lose at this point. 💀 Didn't that ended up not being true? The last thing I remember was that most of the latin voters in total were already part of the Academy as voters and those 4k additions were from different fields: Latin, Jazz, Rock, Country, Pop, etc Edited January 17 by LG2008

I know awards don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it’d be nice to give credit where credit is due, and miss Gaga is LOOONG overdue If she doesn't win big this year, they'll owe her so much... even worse than the 2018 Grammys mess that lead to Joanne deservedly winning Pop Solo Performance the following year but still robbing her SOTY/ROTY for Shallow Edited January 17 by LG2008

They gave a break down of the demographics and I think about a quarter were Hispanic and a decent chunk of the total was below 39. It’ll still be a really big boost for Bad Bunny. mamo 19,768
Sabrina releasing her album on the last day of Grammy submission deadline is shady af to me. She's such a Taylor minion in my eyes. All it's done is split the pop votes between her and Gaga (even though Gaga is way more deserving). She should have waited to release it this year and she would have probably won for next year's ceremony. Gaga probably won't win AOTY due to heavy competition from Bad Bunny & Kendrick. I'm not sure about her chances for SOTY or ROTY either. I previously thought Gaga was a dead shoe-in to win Best Pop Vocal Album however seeing the popularity of Man's Best Friend on the ballots makes me nervous, even though it's not as critically acclaimed as MAYHEM. Sabrina already won for Best Pop Vocal Album with Short & Sweet last year, this should rightfully and hands down be Gaga's year and I'm not even being biased. Ï could be your girlfriend for the weekend...
