Lizzie 91
Marry the Night is the best song on the album. One of her best songs overall as well Black Jesus + Amen Fashion, Highway Unicorn, and Electric Chapel are criminally underrated The Edge of Glory is overrated It's her best album (probably not an unpopular opinion but still) you're on your own kid, yeah you can face this!

AVeryGagaHolyDick 28,910
Many BTW songs are better than Bad Romance. The special version of the album should’ve been the main one, cause the standard version sounds like it was stolen songs. The perfect singles were chosen, just not in the right order. Only Bloody Mary should’ve also been released at the time. Yoü And I and The Edge Of Glory are two of her best music videos.
Gorehound 5,196
I love this album, and a good 60% of the songs, but the production and mastering on most of the songs is very poor. I'm fine, Ta

Rivaled only by “rara-ahahah, roma-romama, gaga-ohlala,” nothing has ever worked so perfectly/sounded so good in a song. Make your peace with this fact: it is *the best* we will ever get from Gaga. It's very skeletal, sparse and uninteresting (save for the outro). Shame considering Gaga wanted it to be Dance In The Dark 2.0 I'm fine, Ta

Written with a heady mix of Jameson, cocaine, and ultra fast acclaim, it has bravado, vulnerability, frankness, and most importantly ease. I think the only time since she’s reached a similar combo was 911. 2
Ziggy 12,996
- it’s her best album—not bc it’s all her best music (it’s not all the time) but bc it’s far and away her most original and most clearly synthesized who SHE is (rock, glam, metal, disco, pop, euro, modern, etc.) aesthetically. Truly an artist’s statement kind of album. - BTW is a dinky song but a great lead single - you and I sounds like it was shot in the face and left to bleed out. Mutt Lange, The Hague waits for you. - it’s a little bloated, sound quality a little terrible; I find every part of this charming and important to the art and not something to improve upon. The album succeeds in capturing the of the moment recording on tour and massive inflation of her ego—thus chronicling the true birth of the Gaga persona that would eventually cause her to lose her mind. Gorgeous and ridiculous. It was important at that time for her to make a clear aesthetic statement musically about who she was as tbh it was not clear to the public in the same way her fashion was. - Scheiße is a gay song not a single. It is ours to have and to hold - Judas was a terrible idea for a single but I think it’s important to do stupid things when you’re young and can bounce back and reflect on your silliness later (look at her now!) - It’s the most inventive she’s ever been musically and DJWS was the dark horse that album needed to unlock that - Hair is absolutely terrible but that’s okay. I love Pat Benatar. - FOHL is fun but yes a Whitney rip off and not good; TQ is only great with the bridge and outro; BJ should be standard edition and is her only Michael Jackson reference that doesn’t come off as a rip off but rather organically synthesized. - It wasn’t a drug addiction that made it great, it was that things were moving too fast for her to doubt herself (speaking to my first point) - I think On the Radio would have been a great addition to the album and made sense of you and i’s sonic departure and she could have shortened some songs here and there to trim the runtime - and the standard cover was the right choice. It’s fantastically silly and ugly. I used to hate it but now I’m like honestly you made me think about how something can be wrong but also kinda right. I love it Edited January 12 by Ziggy
MountainMonster 1,488
It’s not the magnum opus that many like to claim it was. The deluxe cover should have been the standard cover and the standard cover shouldn’t exist because it’s her worst album cover. Highway Unicorn and Electric Chapel are by far the worst songs on the album. 1
RochesterJoannster 3,809
This era was messier than how it gets remembered. I actually think the BTW era was the worst time in terms of her overexposure and people just being sick of her. gagzus 18,059
- HML is a meh song and sounds like a demo, the album can stand on its own without that song imo. You can tell it’s almost like a demo because of the sparse lyrics and the mixing and mastering is off compared to a lot of the other songs - I’m glad Scheiße was never a single because it deserves proper appreciation, and having a song that wouldn’t get AirPlay in an entire part of Europe back in 2011 would’ve been a disaster. - The album cover embodies the album so well, the only other image that would’ve made sense is one of the slime ones. - Gaga’s original single run idea she pitched Interscope was perfect, and Troy’s interference ruined the era. - Marry The Night should’ve been the lead single because it sets the tone for the album sonically better than the title track

But importantly the era singles she devised were very different and refreshing from how she was known.
