Hi everyone, 

Yes, it is I, ready to share a bit more of something I love, which is Monster High!

This thread will include information about new releases and just general discussion for the MH dolls/franchise!

I’m excited to share more about this passion and franchise with you all, so in the meantime let me start with a bit of information:

Monster High is a multimedia fashion doll franchise from Mattel that debuted in 2010, centered on the teenage children of classic monsters (like vampires, werewolves, and mummies) who all attend the spooky, stylish Monster High, a place that celebrates individuality, diversity, and freaky fabulous identities.

After huge early success, the brand first got a redesign reboot in 2016 that changed the dolls’ look and lore but didn’t catch on, leading to a pause in production by 2018.

The modern reboot kicked off in 2022 with a third-generation relaunch featuring updated dolls and a fresh media push: Nickelodeon teamed up with Mattel to release a live-action Monster High musical movie and a new animated TV series that reimagines the classic characters for a new generation while keeping the core themes of acceptance and self-expression. A sequel film (Monster High 2) dropped in 2023, and the animated series has continued on with multiple seasons.

ZOMBY GAGA:

One of the coolest collabs in Monster High history was with Lady Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation. Back in 2016, Monster High teamed up with the foundation to create Zomby Gaga, the first celebrity-inspired doll in the line, designed in Gaga’s likeness and inspired by her “Born This Way” era and visuals. The doll was designed with help from Gaga’s sister Natali Germanotta, and the launch supported the shared mission of helping young people celebrate what makes them unique.

That partnership wasn’t just product-driven, it was about reinforcing Monster High’s core themes of inclusivity and being proud of your differences, which naturally fit with Gaga’s message!

I used to love Monster High when I was tween, the animated show and first wave/generation of dolls was everything. Cleo and Nefra were my girls. I’m afraid I lost interest cause of how different things are today, the dolls just lost the edge they used to have imo and look too bubbly for my liking. I wish they would nostalgia bait me and just create a set that includes the original dolls and I would buy that.

Who is your favorite Monster High Character and why?

I've been obsessed over Frankie Stein so far  She's amazing! But I will say Neighthan Rot, Abby Bominable and Ghoulia Yelps are right there for me  I love Frankie because she always tries to do what is right, Neighthan because he's cute yet clumsy, Abby because she's direct and Ghoulia because she's smart

Do you have any of the dolls?

Yes! Some of the first dolls I ever got as a gift were the Cleo and Deuce two-pack which I have till this day! I also have Zomby Gaga and a bunch of OG's as well as a bunch of creeproductions... My collection does make me quite happy!

Are you looking forward to anything this year for the franchise? 

YES! I'm hoping they release more stock for Pennywise at some point  Also more dolls in the caliber of Alien would be ICONIC

Yes! Cleo and Nefera are those ghouls for sure! I still have the G1 Cleo/Deuce two pack!

They actually released a bunch of reproductions about two years ago I believe! It was the only way I could get the original ghouls I was missing

Omg, I am here, huge MH fan!

I’ve always liked the original, and still do! But I think I might actually prefer G3

The characters just feel deeper and more realistic. And I like the bold brightness of the dolls. They’re so fun

my collection is exclusively G3 (apart from Reel Drama and one G2 Frankie I got at a thrift store) and Ever After High!

I can’t really stomach the G1 prices lol, and I think G3 is just more appealing to me personally

Im so sad they cancelled the Nickelodeon show though… Hopefully something comes soon since we still have more ghouls coming out (I’m so excited for Robecca and Skelita!)

But yes, the prices that most of G1 go for is too crazy

Monster High Skullector Scarah Screams is the first Skullector doll of the year AND she's a Fang Club exclusive!💀

This groovy ghoul lurks through the woods in a velvet mini dress with scary-cute Celtic banshee embroidery, a sheer shroud, and far out flats lifted by the sound of a thousand screams. 😱 It'd be a bummer to miss her restock on 1/14 at 9am PT. 🪾💚🖤

She sold out 10 minutes after instead of 6 the first time. 

As of 12:44PM PST she's still available for Preorder (For a September release)

 

She’s honestly the best Fang Club release so far!

I don’t have TikTok so I couldn’t see the video, only the Thumbnail and OMG I underestimated your collection, I didn't imagine there would be so many dolls! They look beautiful displayed on the shelves, and I managed to identify the Wednesday doll and the Corpse Bride doll (I guess?). Amazing!
