REALITY

With every passing day, my feeling that this country will be unrecognizable by 2028 only deepens. I truly think the US will be irreparably changed by then. He's doing so much damage so fast.

Moronic and needlessly escalatory. Not only is it essentially a declaration of war on a neighboring nation, but there’s also a fairly high likelihood that this would backfire (splinter our relations with Mexico and likely incite more stochastic violence from cartels against Americans). I’m all for intelligence sharing and collaboration with the Mexican government to take down the cartels, but bombing Mexico without their input or consent is ****ing insane.

Its also doomed to failure.

The US has never successfully fought a local armed opposition that can use guerilla tactics.

it's actually good thing for Mexico, for people who don't know how cruel Mexico cartel are, you can just Google Mexico cartel gore, they're terrorist, just like ISIS, and for people who try to  say that it's their owb business, i can respond that Mexico government is weak, they can't beat Mexico cartel, cuz the cartel has their own army  and is better than Mexico military.

That is why they can rule for years, and America is victim of Mexico cartel for years, American knew damn well

Removing the cartels would absolutely be good for Mexico.

The American military conducting indiscriminate bombings on civilian populations is not good for Mexico.

1) Mexicans are the primary victim of the cartels. Not Americans. Americans enable to system by being the single largest drug consumption market in the world and Mexicans have to deal with the mess of turf wars in their own country because of it.

2) American weapons manufacturers and American gun policy are to blame for why cartels have military grade weaponry. Mexico tried to sue weapons manufacturers and the corrupt Supreme Court shot it down to protect their profits.

3) It is up to the democratically elected Mexican government to decide what is good for Mexico. Not you. And not Trump. Mexico’s previous conservative government already tried the war route. It only resulted in a lot of people dying and the main cartels splintering into more violent smaller cartels who carry out those torture videos you’ve probably seen or heard about. Mexico is currently working on an intelligence-based and an education-incentive approach which will obviously take years and years of consistent effort before we start seeing progress. This is a generational issue that needs to be tackled in a two pronged approach of containment and prevention. Not all out war. Again, Mexico already tried that and it failed because you cannot militarily defeat a stateless entity that has an unlimited supply of money and weapons coming in from the United States.

If you truly are horrified by what Cartels do, start by  being outraged by American drug consumption and American weapons policy. Why don’t you prosecute American drug consumers, traffickers and weapons manufacturers as terrorists too while you’re at it? No, it’s easier for Americans to get behind the idea of waging war in Mexico, huh? So long as those two things give Cartels the incentive and the means to conduct guerrilla warfare, the US will NEVER be able to solve the problem militarily without eventually escalating and killing Mexican citizens in large bombing campaigns and on the ground invasions of entire cities. To even suggest this is willfully insane or insanely idiotic.

Yeah, imagine if we formed some kind of joint military defense pact or something with the Mexican government, shared intel, supplies, and troops, and operated within their country fighting the cartels together.

Or you know. Bomb their country and don't tell anyone.

Imagine how tired us, latin americans, are each day that passes by that this clown threatens another country just cause he can. Waiting for the day he finds a reason out of his 4ss to steal the whole continent to rightfully be called America.

Your citizens are literally being murdered by your gestapo-esque agency while you let them starve by cutting any aid that might help them. But sure, do another illegal invasion to rejuvenate the patriotism of your hitlerite base.

Trump has more in common with the cartel than any Mexican immigrant that he wants to label as "violent".

You do not hate American conservative politicians enough. I don't care, genuine demons on earth.

Idk if it’s to rejuvenate patriotism bc Venezuela was enormously unpopular. I think it’s bc without doing the most insane flexes of power, they seem weak

America is not a victim of the cartels lmfao you can’t be the biggest superpower on earth and be victims of anything but yourself.

the point is you’re falling for Trump’s asinine justifications of executive overreach. He’ll always devise some cover of reason to create justification for interventions like this. But at the end of the day, fundamentally it’s not about how bad the cartels are bc if that was their concern they’d do literally anything else and would have. America loves its drugs. It doesn’t gaf about the cartels. This, like Venezuela, is Trump finding a place with corrupt governance (pot meet kettle lol) and illegally invading countries for his own gain.

what the cartels do and have done to Mexico is 1) on the US’s hands anyway and 2) a different issue entirely and one designed to distract from the fact that *Trump’s actions are incredibly illegal and obvious attempts at grabbing for resources he has no right to that he can personally profit from. They want the issue to be about the barbarism of the cartels but at the end of the day it is not, unfortunately. That man does not give one sh!t and arguably behaves just like its leaders do. Mexico would be better without the cartels, but it’s not better with Trump.

This definitely wouldn’t fix anything. If anything, I believe it would make things worse.

Economy

And im gonna assume he got 0 permission from the Mexican Government to do this

I dont ever wanna hear about China as an awful adversary ever again. They literally have not been invading places or sticking their nose uninvitedly to wars the US always does...

The worst right noe is threats to Taiwan (that so far have only been threats but no action). The US has actually carried out threats not to mention large scale threats comparable to Taiwan are literally being made by US also (Greenland and Panama)

Sorry but the US is so hypocritical at times. It acts like it has so much moral superiority but it literally does the exact same crap other World Powers do that it criticises them for. The fact that your part of the develop western world and disguise it as democracy literally changes nothing whats so ever. Its still a bully Country with a we do as we please mentality :madge: . Its maybe not quite as bad as Russia but compared to China im gonna say its pretty on par tbh we if really look at what both Countries have done on the world stage.

talking about the Government obviously. I know at least half the population doesnt support these actions the way they are done

This. The Mexican Government also struggles with the cartels. If the US wanted to get serious about this and be willing to spend a lot fighting them, talk to Mexico (can be behind closed doors to not tip anyone off)

But knowing Trump and his Administration I think we can confidently say there was little to no Mexican input or notification. They almost for sure will just go in and do what they want.
