Several republicans just joined Democrats in the senate to limit Trump's war powers and if he launched an actual invasion of a NATO ally (like Greenland) the military would decapitate itself. Yes, but unfortunately many of the politicians that most effectively and vehemently oppose him don’t have as much structural power as the establishment atm. Contrary to what some have said, Mamdani’s victory in NYC (as well as the growing momentum of many anti-establishment figures across the country) shows that many Americans are fed up with the lack of meaningful + effective opposition from standard issue Dems and will, hopefully, vote many of them out in the upcoming elections. Cautiously optimistic that the backlash to Trump will result in a, much needed, broader course correction in American politics.
