"[Loud is] just the perfect Rihanna album. Every song is tailored to me. I wanted songs on there that were all Rihanna songs, that nobody else could do. I didn't want the generic pop record that Kesha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could do."

Well she’s right, none of the other girls could do the songs on LOUD , neither could she do a Gaga song :ohwell:

let’s not create unnecessary drama tho, this clip is 16y old… we know by now that she’s a Gaga fan

Imma say it, LOUD didn’t age that well when compared with other pop girls 2010 hits.
S&M, What’s my Name, Cheers, California King Bed all sound like dated 2010 songs you can’t finish :ororomunroe:

Only Girl in the World, Man Down and Complicated remain bops tho

“Tailored to me”

I find it funny that she’s at least admitting that other people are crafting her music and she’s just a voice singing over the demo.

In some sense, her music is the generic pop music she’s talking about, the one that is crafted to be a hit on the radio without any emotional connection between the song and the artist.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Mind you she also got back and forth with Chris Brownie at that time so she really was on something else at that time :huntyga:

Well she’s got a point lol. People still stream her music and people haven’t found a new artist to crown “the new Rihanna”. Her voice is very unique (obviously not technically amazing) so she really does have a distinct flavour to her music you can’t really find anywhere else at the moment.
