AVeryGagaHolyDick 27,905
I don’t find it genuinely scary, no, but I really dislike its use most of the time

It's extremely scary, but pandora's box has been opened. That's awful. But the actual scary part is that they won't care. I've already had very young people tell me off for pointing out something is AI because "bro we don't care it's funny just laugh" or "it's not that serious who cares if it's real or not". Like for a lot of the young generation as long as it's entertaining, confirms their personal biases, or sounds interesting (even if it's misinforming) they don't care and just view it the same way they would real information. Gen alpha is going to be VERY susceptible to propaganda. More than any generation ever before. Because they don't care if something is true or real, they just consume I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Because they don't care if something is true or real, they just consume That's probably just a combination of apathy and nihilism more than anything else. Gen alpha is/will be intelligent enough to know the difference but truly whether something is real or not doesn't matter when nothing matters, yeah? They're growing into a world where 99.99% of people will never be able to claw their way up to a livable existence so why should they care? 🥀

meltedplastic 585
i think the thing thats the most scary about it is how much water it uses and its effects on the environment, we have destroyed the earth enough already with modern technologies
sarahb 16,867
It's why I've stopped analysing how realistic something looks and more at how realistic the whole thing is. If things are way too 'perfect' or coincidental to be caught on camera, or people or animals are behaving oddly, it's AI. Do you feel him sir? princedeeblebleble 2,350
Not really, cause most AI content is VERY clockable, like the images above could have been created with PS or other editing programs easily. It's like saying green screening or other effects are also bad because they are unrealistic. Like yea we can use ai to make people do random **** they wouldn't, but that was also possible through art and photoshop for decades and more. What annoys me more is poor use of AI, like recently I did a podcast interview and the producer used AI to create the thumbnail and instead of just cutting out the background and adding text he completely changed my face

I mean, AI is stealing lots of art from creators, but the deepfake AI corn is a whole new area, and I am surprised not more people talk about it. There's websites where you can upload your picture, and with one or two clicks you can undress someone. It's wild. And with how good the AI is getting, imagine you have your nudes "leaked" that you didn't even take. Or worse, kids.

Yep, I have a friend that’s a teacher and she heard about some students selling AI generated nudes of their classmates underage girls. I mean…if this is what 2026 has in store for us…
