Because it isn't written yet. They've only just completed season 1, including editing it etc up to the last minute before episode releases. 

Tiernay doesn't expect writing to be finished until the summer as he hasn't even started yet, so he's predicting they won't be able to film until the start of autumn and expects an early 2027 release.

Ah ok that makes sense. I might have to pick up the Heated Rivalry and Long Game books! Although I don’t want to spoil myself for season 2. Maybe I’ll just read some of their fan fiction instead lmao

My plan after friday is to read Heated Rivalry ready for the series dropping on official streaming in the UK on Jan 10th lol

Then the rest of the books are available physically from Jan 15th so I will get them and read the rest of the series. 

I've set my target for next year to read 1 book a week so this gets it to 5 pretty quickly lol

That sounds very doable! From what I saw the books aren’t that big so getting through 1 a week is possible lol

i mean when all the materials written in the books i dont think it should take till 2027 to release it lol. this is how shows become flops, they wait too much time to release new seasons, releasing every year is the best strategy to keep the audience hooked. yall see how mad euphoria fans are having to wait so long between seasons

I finished book 1 in a weekend 😂

So I'm hoping these books will go quicker so my heftier books have more breathing space

I mean yeah all the material is written in the book.

But its not scripted. It's not adapted to fit the episode and time allowance. 

So yeah, its not at all surprising that the team behind it are predicting a 14 month turn around (which is tiny). Because unlike shows with preapproved successor seasons that are able to go immediately into planning etc, this one is starting production processes from scratch in the new year.
