I was hoping she would snatch the No. 1. Kylie really deserves this. It's a fun song and a much needed breath of fresh air. Although so many artists have released christmas songs in the past years but somehow they're not really sticking.

Hope it finds its place in the list of "classics" that chart every year.

Although I would like to see "Hot in December" going No. 1 next year. This song is even better in my opinion and on repeat since its release

This is what happens when Parlophone makes odd single and tracklisting choices for X, and weird single choices and really outdated single release strategies for Aphrodite. Everything after going up to signing with BMG is the result of these mistakes.

It still kind of amazes me that All the Lovers & Padam Padam weren't #1 given how big they were. 

But yeah - the X era single choices and the order for Aphrodite singles was very very odd.

Parlophone was making Kylie debut songs before they were available for purchase via dowloads and physicals. In the 1980s and 1990s this wouldn't have been a big deal, but this was in 2010. This ruined the singles after All the Lovers, which was the only song to get a proper release. I remember watching performances of singles from the album on places like the X Factor, and hosts would ask her if the song was available and she would just awkwardly say "soon" (@4:50):

Yeah Parlaphone really did not understand the digital age in the slightest. It's not at all surprising she quit and went to Roc Nation - although they were far worse.
