Out of the traditional Christmas songs, I don't really like Joy to the World and Deck The Halls. 

Out of the newer ones, Driving Home for Christmas, Grown Up Christmas List, Mistletoe by Justin Bieber...there's probably way more that I can't think of right now.

They play a lot of Christmas covers by Idina Menzel at my work and it's like... girl, calm down  it's as if you can hear how wide she's opening her mouth to sing that sh*t

So many of you saying ones I like! I always think of Driving Home For Christmas on drives home after Christmas shopping or on the final drive home from work before the Christmas break and I'm not even the one driving! I like how it references a normal person doing normal things at Christmas, instead of the classic 2 routes that most Christmas songs go down - pining for an ex that you hope is going to come back or doing fantastical things like going on sleigh rides that only exist in fantasy land for most of us. I don't know, I think it's one of the sweetest Christmas songs out there.

Good one! Nostalgia Chick introduced me to this one years ago and there was also a book and a film about. It's very much your all-American Christian song that really appeals to a certain demographic but the rest of us listen to this and wonder why this boy is trying to find his dying mother shoes on Christmas Eve when he should just be spending time with her. What young boy even considers what shoes his mum wears or deems them important? I'm also wondering why she even needs shoes considering she's in a hospital bed. And I don't think any of these writers questioned the bizarre line about "I want her to look beautiful in case mama meets Jesus tonight." Makes it sound like if she dies wearing a pair of the hottest pumps, Jesus is going to want to make his move on her when she ascends to heaven!

Kelly’s Wrapped in Red stresses me out, and her unnecessary obligatory screaming IS nails to chalkboard. 

I can't get over the sheer amount of Christmas songs that involve grown women singing about Santa and asking him to make their wish come true (Santa Baby really started that trend) and is even weirder when they slightly sexualise the concept of Santa (again, you can thank Santa Baby for that). It's like such songs are aimed at children but the song's about romance, so it's not relevant to kids. It's a weird combo for sure. It's clear that they're used to their pop music themes and just wanted to do the same thing but Christmassy.

Kelly sounds so maudlin and depressing when she sings Wrapped in Red, it's supposed to be this grand romantic song about true love and yet she doesn't sound happy. The chorus takes forever and a day to get through and when I was hearing this song every day on the shopping centre's playlist, I was always dreading this one and hoping that something would come up to distract me.
