Before that it was just a song I didn't care for. Had it stayed a standalone single I wouldn't be so salty And now it's confirmed to be something Bruno pulled out of his trash bin so I'm feeling a bit vindicated I understand this. It doesn't bother at all that she did this but I do think she does get a pass for this after enduring the pain that was the ARTPOP and Joanne era. I am just happy she gets another "one of the biggest modern songs" moment.

Oh I've long accepted that it's something only I'm bothered by, I just enjoy bitching into the aether We can complain about so little with her, it's nice to have some negativity! Like, finally there's a lion in the bush, ya know Blackout19 - "Free Woman sucks!"

juicyjuicy 1,992
This makes sense. So the rough timeline is: - Bruno wrote a demo of DWAS and shelved it - at one point, one of the original writers considered pitching it for the Joker 2 soundtrack - Gaga began recording Joker 2 soundtrack and Harlequin in the studio - Bruno catches wind of Gaga being in the studio with Andrew Watt (who he has also been working with) - Watt / Bruno invites Gaga over to their studio and they finish recording DWAS with her vocals on it - It gets released as a standalone single as it didn't quite fit Joker 2/Harlequin (for whatever reason), but later added to Mayhem's official track list (likely due to its streaming numbers)

But then they must have known about the bad reception of Joker 2 or something going on with the movie before it premiered on festivals so they decided to add it to MAYHEM instead Tbh, I wish it was part of Harlequin... Maybe that album would've got more attention and love thanks to DWAS but it fits pretty well on both albums
