The Paramore frontwoman announced a run of dates earlier this month, and within days she extended the tour due to “overwhelming demand”. The shows kick off in Atlanta on March 27 and include dates in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin in June.

Now, she has given an interview to Clash in which she has clearly stated that she intends the tour to be entirely inclusive, saying she wants everybody to “feel welcome to the party”.

“I don’t want racists around, and I don’t want sexist people around, and I don’t want people there who think that trans people are a burden,” Williams told the publication.

“I think that’s a hard line for me now. I hope it naturally happens that people who do harbour those harmful ideologies aren’t going to feel welcome, because they’re going to walk in the door and realise that the gang’s all here, all banded together around something positive,” she continued. “All are welcome if you believe all should be welcome… If you don’t believe that, you’re not welcome!”

Williams is a long-standing campaigner on these subjects, openly criticising the Tennessee Republican leadership last year after turning down an official State Honour. “The blatant racism of our state leadership is embarrassing and cruel,” she said. “Myself, as well as Paramore, will continue to encourage young people to show up to vote with equality in mind.”

In reality, most people that go to her concert wont qualify entry, but nobody views themselves as these things.

I know this is off topic, but almost every Gay person I meet in America is transphobic! They always go on random rants about trans people, and I feel uncomfortable so I just nod along, and then I feel guilty for days for not saying anything! Is this normal or just my experience?

I love her so much :messga:  my love for her has only grown since Petals For Armor and This Is Why when she seemingly became more brave and outspoken. I've been a huge fan since I was in high school in 2006, but as they started as a semi-christian band I really wasn't sure what her views were. But as she started making that more clear over the years I've grown to admire her so much

Also listen to her recent song True Believer.  She references Billie Holiday's song Strange Fruit. And when she performed it live on the Tonight Show she put an orchestra of black people at the front of the stage while she sat at the back and let them have their stage. She really stands on the right side of history

Between her and Gaga I feel so lucky to have chosen to follow the RIGHT musicians years ago

Spoiler

Here's her performance if you're curious

Girl I hope you're joking :laughga:  her best friend is gay and they started a hair dye brand together and she even wrote a song about him called My Friend. One of her other close friends and Paramore band member is gay, she was going to perform with Arlo Parks before the pandemic stopped it, she had Boygenius come and record on Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris, she recently performed with Rico Nasty, the list goes on

And I mean she straight up said supported the LGBTQIA+ community
