Celebrities Are Making Smoking Cigarettes Cool Again Among Young People

Hard to feel upset at the trend or have much sympathy for people dumb enough to take up smoking just because they see celebrities using cigs as an aesthetic.

Speaking as someone who’s addicted to cigarettes, I agree that it’s gross AF but at the same time I CANNOT STOP 😭 I hate myself for even trying them

Yeah I live around smokers and I get scared that my shirts smell like I smoke. Not that bad of a smell, but first impressions right? LOL

listen i understand some of you in this thread want to lead with kindness, but smoking is one of the very few substances that not only physically affects the person doing it, but also others around them who are able to inhale the smoke. They did not consent to ingesting the substance, it's being imposed upon them, and that is not only inconsiderate of the person smoking, but also dangerous. We should be reminded that second hand smoke inhalation has been studied widely and its effects are marked and devastating.

I do think in certain circumstances smoking (cigarettes) looks cool as f*ck, but it wouldn’t have ever made me want to start smoking

I'm actually really glad this has been written about.

I was a smoker for 10 or so years (I'm a 31 psychotherapist), had stopped for just over 1 year but genuinely when I heard Addison Rae singing about "need a cigarette to make me feel better" I remember being like "hmmm, that did feel relaxing". Then when What Was That by Lorde got released and she referenced "the best cigarette of (her) life" I actually went back to smoking due to the nostalgic imagery of her lyrics.

Hope this doesn't sound too daft- just my experience
