Trump signs bill to release Epstein files

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump signed a bill Wednesday to compel the Justice Department to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein, capping off a monthslong bipartisan push in Congress that initially met resistance from the president and sparked sharp divisions within the Republican Party.

Trump had previously said he would sign the measure into law, even as he continued calling the largely Democrat-led push to release the files a "hoax."

In announcing the bill signing on Truth Social, Trump took more digs at Democrats, repeating his "hoax" characterization and arguing that they were seeking "to try and distract" from his administration's accomplishments.

The House overwhelmingly supported passing the bill on Tuesday, with only Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., voting against the legislation. Later in the day, the Senate agreed to send the measure to Trump by unanimous consent, which it did on Wednesday.

The bill requires Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all unclassified records related to Epstein withinc 30 days. The law permits Bondi to withhold or redact information that could jeopardize a federal investigation.

Last week, Bondi agreed to the president’s request for her department to investigate Epstein’s connections to Democrats and others. In his Truth Social post Wednesday night, Trump referred to that effort, writing, “Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed.”

I do have some hope that if they're heavily redacted and/or doctored, that the victims will call them out on it. It's sad that it's even a possibility, but this administration continues to prove day after day that they reach a new low.

While it would be lovely to see the victims take a stand for the truth, much of the MAGA base is gonna either ignore that or call them liars that were planted by Democrats. This is why I am an advocate for formal deprogramming of MAGA.

I feel like that's what they're doing right now anyway. The only way the MAGA base isn't gonna come after the victims is if they say that Trump is 1000% innocent.

He needs to croak so that anyone else who isn't him can try and continue his agenda and maybe MAGA/Republicans won't buy it. For whatever reason, they have stockholm syndrome to that rapist and would do anything for him because they believe he cares.

So what gets released will essentially be up to Pam Bondi.

She won't be releasing anything that's classified. Who decides what's classified ? Joe Biden ? Nancy Pelosi ? Barack Obama ? Abraham Lincoln ? Probably none of the above.

And she won't be releasing anything that could jeopardize a federal investigation. That sounds like carte blanche to withhold or redact anything she chooses.

Obviously then Bondi is not going to release any documents that will incriminate Trump, but she is going to have to release something. It's going to be interesting to see what that is and  how Republicans in Congress react to it. Bottom linre here is that Trump wanted these files buried but now they are going to be (in some shape or form) released, and that is happening because Congress has defied him.

Then all the republicans names will be removed, but if there is a single democrat in the file, the name will appear.
