I don't know charts much, or certifications. How did an album that landed #1 for a single week get 3x platinum? I read you have to request certification, is that true? Surely this album did not outperform Taylor and Morgan Wallen?

But this is because she included those songs released years ago, isn't it? Congrats tho

oiii - they really need to not consider songs that were release like 3+ years ago on the album. It should be like a year deadline to have the songs plays be counted outside of the album. This is just simply to say 3x platinum, this has no indication of real success.

artist/label have to apply and pay for RIAA certifications and they usually don't do it as often as Cardi/her label.  Taylor's album would be 5x platinum if she updated it, Morgan's 4x.
also RIAA counts sales differently than Billboard. track streams and downloads from before the album release are counted toward total units.

MAYHEM should be at about 2.5M units in the US right? :oprah:

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Sick of artists with fragile egos resorting to desperate measures because they need the validation of chart success.
