Why I love so much Free Woman!

Well, @NUTELLA said to write.. why I love so much this song.

First, has the sound that i love the most. I like 2 types of sounds (either is disco/ house or indie, like a Lana Del Rey song). I'm not bipolar for no reason. 
When I heard for the first time this song, it was love at the first sight. I liked it too the demo version, but i loooove more the final version.
I loved the sound, the lyrics.. everything. 
When the song came out, and the album.. I didn't come out to my family. 
In that year, I moved in Dublin for some months, and this song and that city made me feel so freee. To be myself, to be ”full” gay. 
This song it means a lot to me, even if I sometimes post too much about this song, I really love it.

I know it’s a ‘choice’ but I adored the demo version - I want to be be be be free free free free free forever baby -

it was like that classic Lady Gaga hooky sound popping out …. But it appeared she wasn’t ready for this embrace … (until we got Abra and GoE 5 years (oh shiz) later 🤭)

Yes!! Free Woman is a queer anthem. 

The line "This is... the dance floor, I fought for" is so powerful. I live in NYC and the Stonewall Riots are extremely important part of queer history here. They literally fought for a bar/nightclub. They fought for a dance floor. 

That feeling of walking NYC streets knowing that the first brick at the riots was thrown by Marsha P. Johnson, a black trans woman  I feel for a minute that I am powerful!

 

I love this song sooooo much. And I feel like it is one of many of Gaga's nods to the queer/nb/trans community

Free Woman is the most important song in my life. 

A few years ago I used to walk alone staring up at the evening sky listening to Free Woman and wishing really hard that things would work out. I had been through a lot and I’m thankful for my own resilience (and that I didn’t become a serial killer). 

My adult life is a lot better now. I’ve been doing all the things I wanted to do as a child and making up for lost time.

It’s indeed one of the best from the album. I’ve always liked it and experiencing it live was definitely one of the best surprises at TCB.

Its a wonderful song at its core, the demo and the fan edits are incredible and a highlight to my personal Chromatica playlists, if they tweaked it and made it the lead single the era would be much more hyped cause stupid love kinda killed rhe era for me, wheras the FW leak gave me hope..  but the actual studio version just makes me so sad 😭  thank god for the Rina remix when it comes to the official mixes. I still cannot at HOW AND WHY they got rid of the "I wanna be free forever" bridge?!

It's such a comforting song, one of the best from Chromatica. The sounds and Gaga's voice make me feel like I'm floating, she could truly capture the feeling of and yearning for freedom in a heartwarming and hopeful way. I already loved the song but when she performed it at TCB I was just in awe. Her dressed in golde walking through the crowd in the purple light... almost divine. Free Woman is a highlight but Chromatica as a whole has this feeling like all the songs are a plead, a prayer and a scream for freedom and better days, and that's exactly why I love it so much. It's reflected in Gaga's use of her voice too, like how many lines are sang in this soaring voice, the words drawn out, repeated and echoed, lost in the synths.

It was the vocal synths for me. The demo is legit why I hate the album version so much  

It was such a unique and groovy sound which was quintessential Lady Gaga, the beat was much better and had layers to it, and there was no stupid "drop" (which is probably one of the most disappointing "drops" I've ever heard ). Just "BE. FREE." as a declaration and right into the second verse...god, that was power  

The final version feels so sterilized and sapped of anything that made the song great or unique in the first place. Idk what she and Bloodclot were thinking dumbing it down like that.

Combined with the scrapped bridges and scrapped production of songs like 911 and Babylon and the original ballad version of 1000 Doves, it really makes me shudder to think of how much promise Chromatica had just to be pissed away for underwhelming, generic, boring house music  

I'm glad she has her fans but aside from the 1000 Doves piano version and a couple fan reconstructions I haven't pressed play on a Chromatica track since the Ball and I don't miss it one bit. Truly her worst album

I actually put it really high in my top Chromatica songs, don't understand why by some fans it's put next to Stupid Love.

Of course I love the demo more, but the final product is good too. The performance in Chromatica Ball was really creative in terms that Gaga didn't have to do much choreography, yet be close to the fans. It's one of the Chromatica's highlights to me.

Just wanna add that Gaga must have loved this song so much that at one point the supposed album was called "Free woman". I think it would have done greatly as lead single, it's very radio friendly.
