Study Shows AI Popular With People Making Six Figures

AI has threatened to displace large swaths of the workforce, and many people are scared that it will take their jobs. A certain segment of the population seems unconcerned though, and even pretty enthusiastic about it. Perhaps unsurprisingly, AI is most popular amongst the group of workers making over $100 thousand, one study has found.

The study comes from business intelligence firm Morning Consult, and breaks down the fastest growing brands by income level across a variety of product categories. As you can see from the below screenshot, the brands that are gaining the most loyalty the fastest for those making six-figures are the AI companies Gemini and OpenAI, followed closely by WhatsApp. Microsoft Copilot is also thrown into the mix. ChatGPT is also on the list in addition to its parent company.

When it comes to overall chatbot popularity for this income group, there is a clear winner: ChatGPT. “When we compare the key brand metrics for seven of the biggest AI chatbots amongst high -income consumers, we see there’s a clear front -runner in most categories — ChatGPT,” the report says.

AI is largely designed to replace low-level clerical work and provide convenience to those operating in managerial positions, so it sorta makes sense that those people would be the most enthusiastic about it.

I have used it, but one thing I’ve noticed is GenZ people use ChatGPT as their first resource, as someone who grew up with the internet for the last two decades, I will never not google something first, it’s almost like an instinctive thing 

I guess it’s a generational thing, it might seem counterintuitive for them to use Google when you can get more precise information using AI more quickly

The precision is debatable. Plus it's only one answer (from god knows where) being given whereas googling gives multiple answers/perspectives.

Only once in my life when I was forced to by work to just try using it and luckily I raised enough hell and told them it was an insult to my master's degree to think I needed to rely on something to write a "better" blurb than I could. 

AI has so many flaws but to people making 6 figures or more, my guess is they stopped giving a **** about the talents of who makes less AND is willing to still do the work just to have a job. I left my job as a teacher because regulations on AI weren't being enforced and I was told I was too harsh. Not to toot my own horn, but I was an AP science teacher for high school in the US and since I left the school has had a significant decrease in science performance (Which I know because I left teaching but remained involved by joining an education board). 

My biggest issue initially was seeing how people thought they could supplement their knowledge through AI just to pass, which I am against because I am a true believer in continuous education and knowledge of your craft... whatever craft that may be. I now have an issue with the reliance and excessive push of it's "use", when it still cannot replicate nearly what humans are capable of when applying themselves. Please do not use AI or do anything that helps to "train" it further.

The same people using AI everyday to get by will be the same people who riot when they cannot get a job or position in life because the spot has been taken. And in the only support of AI I guess I can give... it serves them right for not taking time to research and understand their passion craft on their own. Gaga even said, PEOPLE CAN DO HARD THINGS! That is the energy that got me through my own graduate program and I fought like hell but I learned so much and the experience of my program taught me valuable life skills. So not to sound like a boomer, but suck it up and write your essay or look at more than one source and stop relying on some stupid robot (that causes pollution) to do your thinking for you.

I was threatened to be fired (and so I quit) for telling kids to stop using chat or AI sources and to actually use their brains. I'm 27 years old... there are people older and younger than me and so while it is definitely generational in the sense it is more common in educational settings for young people, many older people have forgotten their own critical thinking/analysis skills by relying on and trusting such an unreliable source. The use of AI is a beta test until I see 100% scientific research that its beneficial. Either be the guinea pig or just be yourself and accomplish success through strengthening your own mind and skillset.

But learn to debate your own mind and others. Learn the patience to deal with other people and how you get a better understanding of them and develop a stronger sense of empathy that way. Whether you agree with someone or not (and its never 100% between people), learning how to understand human connection as a tool to grow is something a lot more people need to do. 

There are also tons of other communities and forms to find debate that include other people. Maybe it is just me, but I find it ridiculous someone wants to have an extended conversation with an artificial resource.

Edit: Not to sound offensive, but the willingness to "be the guinea pig" just highlights an ignorance and refusal to push yourself further. I base this off your subsequent comment about debate. If you are needing that fulfillment, then try to find other people to talk about it with. I know it is difficult to find supportive resources and if you are interested I will gladly help you find through a private message discussion. But please do not just give the energy that you will carelessly cop to using AI to fulfill something we all should have access to with other humans, and something we deserve to have access to

What if those people used AI as a tool to get them to the 6 figure mark? 

AI is just a tool to navigate life and people who aren’t good at utilizing it are going to fall back while those who use it in a smart way will get ahead.

What are you on forums for then?  Have you heard of humans? Yea of course you cant debate books, but at least you will develop creativity, imagination, that is not disabled as soon as you disconnect. And yea you can definitely retain information from anywhere. It's the lack of critical thinking and bypassing of so much humanity that I feel will renders its users more and more detached/ lacking empathy/desire to connect with humans, and ability to imagine without assistance....which is genuinely better for us all to have.

And while I understand life is sadly shifting more and more to parasocial relationships, it freaks me out how people don't sort see a problem with AI outside of medicinal use etc. like lol

I’m totally against using AI but in my industry (digital marketing) everybody is forced to use it. So many teams are downsized. I’m literally a social media marketer but I’ve used it to code entire webpages and read data and review legal terms…

It’s actually kind of insane because it does speed up work but its depressing because I know my job will be gone at this rate lol…

I use it almost every day to manage my money and investments. From time to time I also use it to check in with my mental health. It's also great for my adhd brain fart
