The way she references the Wh*re of Babylon (the lady in red on MAYHEM) from the ”Book of Revelation” feels insane to me. ”Walk into the light, displayin' diamonds and pearls in my (Fashion) Married to the night I own the world, we own the world” And the nods to gnosticism in the bridge and outro. ”I take it off, I put it on I feel alive when I transform But this love's not material Now take it in and turn me on Zip me up, it can't be wrong 'Cause your new look's ethereal” and ”Fashion” being pronounced like ”Fashaeon”. An aeon is a divine being according to gnostic texts. Honorable mention being the ”Voodoonana” in Donatella being the same spell used years later in Abracadabra. Kind of makes me wonder if Chromatica and MAYHEM were intented to serve as spiritial successors to ARTPOP as she did talk about potentially having enough ideas for 3 ACTs of AP. ??? I WISH they actually produced more on the album despite them not liking her. Their sound is INCREDIBLE and actually has that gritty complex and experimental sound/production I was hoping for the album. Have you heard the original Aura demo of theirs? It's called Kink and I WISH Gaga and Zedd kept more parts of that demo for Aura 🥹

This is a concept she herself was talking about in the Chromatica Apple Music interview, right after them discussing ARTPOP being ahead of it's time and being misunderstood. Gaga's writing has always had insane depth and little refences hiding between the lines. The obvious pop cultural themes are often nothing but a facade for the bigger picture. River 119,213
Did u know that the sound at the beginning of Applause is mimicking one of the sounds that u can hear when you're doing MRI? it's once again connected to the hip injury So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I agree that her writing is complex but, respectfully, I think you're reading wayyyy too much into everything she does (especially Donatella and Fashion!, come on,now...): you mentioned biblical-spiritual concepts even for Joanne and all her other albums and although it makes sense to you because you seem to be into these themes, they are simply not there Edited 32 minutes ago by TimotheeChalamet

Gorehound 4,807
That cute little crack or squeak in her voice in “you wanna pity me cause was arranged ONE man to love”, and just how coquettish and whacked-out she sounds in the Aura verses. Works so well against the sheer chaos and complexity of the instrumental, (and FAR superior than the shouty, overblown demo verses unpopularopinion learnsomeactualtastepeople). The drums and bass synths in Aura overall, especially in the chorus! Sounds gigantic and epic. Infected Mushroom yes please. The chorus of Venus. The harmonies, the explosive euphoria. One of the best pop choruses of her career. Basically a sonic orgasm. The grinding synths and drum patterns of G.U.Y. So harsh and fierce. The steamy, throbbing, pulsating groove of Sexxx Dreams, and the slurry, smutty-af pre chorus “heard your boyfriend was away this weekeyynnnd”. The growling, belting vocals in the MANiCURE verses. Savage. The tropical, almost Caribbean-like synth keys in Do What U Want’s chorus, almost like steel drums, and the stunning vocals. The cool mix of high and deep vocal harmonies on ARTPOP, the bubbling instrumental, and the sheer beauty of her spoken voice in “free-my-mind-ARTPOP, you-make-my-heart-stop” The prolonged, unsettling, juddering build-up in Swine just before both beat drops. Feels like being on an actual rollercoaster going up and up just before the plunge. The bloated, filthy, sweaty dance breaks in the bridge and outro of Donatella. The cool funky bass guitar in Fashion! And the drop at the end is actually pretty sick considering its a tamer song on the album. The cool production effects used in “puff in, puff out….HOlland!” in Mary Jane Holland. Actually sounds like the song itself is taking a drag on some giant, cosmic joint lol. Also the “I think we’d” is some fun tongue-n-cheek humour. The chorus and post in Applause, especially the explosive final chorus my gawd! And that perfect little high-note ad-lib at the end “make it real LOUUWWDDD”. I'm fine, Ta
