Worst Mayhem Ball experience (for me)

Hated this whole day and the day before, and while this was my last mayhem show this year brb crying

Queueing was stressful, staff and security in the evening and at night were hostile and not helpful at all making us not feel at ease. The whole night was just stress, and when the morning came the ‘queue’ became anarchy in a matter of seconds.

Staff were regulating at some point around 8-9 am, but we haven’t seen them back until the doors opened. They could have been around to prevent people from cutting, answering our questions regarding the VIP experience or anything else about the venue. It just made things messy, unclear and uncared for.

Besides that, everything took so long and there was no clear indication of when we were going in. People were crying and having panic attacks over not being able to go to the bathroom in time!! Because there are no bathrooms around, and staff told us to just do it behind the tour trucks.

After we got in at 1820 (GC EE vip!), we still had to wait some more without any orderly organized queue from the staff or any clarity on early merch shopping and bathrooms. Mess mess mess again.

Once we got in, we also saw that almost the entirety of the left gc was just VIP EE. No one had early entry for the right of the stage. This is super unfair for people that ended up paying 460€ to be in the 10th row, while regular ticket holders paying half of that on the right side were cheering once they got in and managed to get barricade! I get it and I’m happy, but it just feels so crooked and scammy.

Security wasn’t caring at all either. Weren’t handing out water voluntarily, only if you really asked for it. Might have been a reason many people fainted. They also completely blocked all fans from getting close to Gaga during the VIY barricade walk. None of the people I queued with (it was like 30 of us at the barricade) managed to get any signature, and security was holding back people trying to give flowers. Plus the people behind us were trying to shove their stuff they wanted to sign ( A lot of desperate hands with lanyards, hoping for a signature), made security push us back even more.

 

To summarize, a horrible experience. Whenever you go out of your country, pay for travel expenses and buy a VIP ticket to a show, this isn’t what you should receive. I am gonna write a formal complaint to both ticketmaster and the venue this week. I wonder if other people feel the same way? This was my seventh and last mayhem show and I left with my head hanging down sadly

it is crazy, and really thankful that i was able to do it!! i haven’t been able to go to any previous gaga tours and this was my good chance to see her before she disappears for a while

Hi. Sorry, that sucks, but you’ve seen her a lot. So you have many good experiences to remember. 
 

To give you some perspective, I saw the MAYHEM Ball on August 7th in Seattle. My sister was supposed to see her the day before on August 6th, but she went to the hospital instead and died at 12:01 AM on the day I was going to the MAYHEM Ball. So… not to belittle your experience, but it could be much worse.

Thanks so much, it’s still sort of surreal. I’m sure it is for you too. 
 

I actually felt so thankful to go the MAYHEM ball afterwards. It actually was a pretty healing experience to scream sing with a bunch of monsters.

I think everyone affected should complain. I was GC right side, we showed up at the venue around 17.30 and were shocked at the lack of crowd control and common sense. There was not enough space for all the people. Leaving the arena was crazy as well.

I heard they didn't let EE in on time because Gaga was soundchecking. This was not an issue in Amsterdam. We were all sitting in the hallway listening to a loud Gaga playlist while we heard Gaga belting Angel Down through the closed doors. No big deal.

They way they treated GC EE in Antwerp is unexceptable. You cannot call something a VIP ticket and ask €500 and deny them food, drinks, and bathroom breaks.

Me and my Dutch friends are expert quers and we sorted things out in Berlin in Amsterdam and we had very close and clear communication with the venue and Gagas staff. Sounds like in Antwerp there was way too much uncertainty which causes stress and panic. Also the venue was way too freaking hot.

I'm sorry for your experience, you have every right to complain.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, don't get me wrong... But you also saw it seven times, this does feel like a lot for an experience you've lived through multiple times.

Not saying you don't have a right to feel bad, but it does come off a little out of touch with reality

It’s unfortunate that you experienced some mishaps, but can I ask why let it sour the whole experience? Surely you enjoyed the rest of the show despite not getting close to Gaga during VIY? It looks like you’re fortunate enough to have met her already.

Venue staff should’ve been more organized for sure, but it’s kind of the risk you take getting an unseated ticket. When I went to the Joanne tour they started letting people inside early when I left my spot to go charge my phone, so I lost my original spot and wasn’t as close. I still had an amazing time though.

My guess is you weren't there? This show in Antwerp wasn't just a disappointment for the OP, it was a disappointment for everyone in GCEE, many of whom it was their first ever Gaga show.

Their complaints are valid and the amount of times they saw the show only speaks to the clear differences between how these shows were organized.

The venue is lucky nothing went seriously wrong cause it was a shitshow.

Right? The demand is so high we can't easily get a ticket plus the dynamic pricing make it impossible to many to buy one when there's finally an unit left somewhere lol... But why would they bother with us when some can just buy multiple at any price?

This tour is really when they stopped gaf about doing it for as many fans as possible it seems. Actually, seing the OP, even the ones who could afford to go weren't always well-treated it seems sadly.
