After all these years of hearing Gaga sing about longing, heartbreak, and the search for real love, it feels like she’s finally found it. "I’ve been so lonely in this field, fighting a battle with no shield." That lyric hits me every time!!! It feels like she’s looking back on all the pain she’s carried over the years, but now there’s peace and a sense of comfort she once thought she’d never have. She doesn’t have to face life alone anymore. That’s why this song means so much to me. It gives me hope that love is still out there, no matter how long it takes. So whenever I hear another fan act negatively towards this song, it low-key irks me because of how sentimental it probably is to her. Like can we just be happy for once?!
