The lead single is definitely interesting, but I think it broke the record not just because of an organic response from the masses. It's likely due to streams from fans, curiosity, and from people who want to see what the mixed reactions are all about. Her team was smart to make it the first track, it will surely benefit from streaming.

Outside of Stan Twitter, no one knows about the mixed reactions though

I think some people like it (or probably love it), some are neutral, and some hate it. This observation goes beyond that childish stan Twitter thing. I believe most people can agree that it’s had a mixed reaction, it’s successful, but not entirely celebrated. Personally, I like the lead but not the album.

Curiosity if a big thing. Im not even a TS fan but I listened to entire album on day one just because TS is such a big deal so u get curious

Also The Fate Of Ophelia really grew on me and i really like it now. The title is also interesting and intreguing to say the least, it grabs attention

I also really like the song "Cancelled"

But the rest of the album is very boring to me :enigma:

Well, Taylor definitely has the biggest hardcore fanbase (by far), but I don’t think she’s particularly relevant in culture other than by the records she beats. That’s why she has huge numbers (and that’s amazing for her!) but I don’t think the GP cares enough about her to read about her album’s reception. I don’t think they’d go “oh, her album has mixed reviews? Let me check that out for myself!” Cause the usual Taylor music already doesn’t particularly resonate with the GP outside of her (HUGE)  fanbase

But it will make ppl who follow this stuff curious

Lets not forget u dont need many in GP to view something for numbers to be big

Even if each stream was by a seperate person, if a song is streamed 50M times in a day thats literally still less than 1% of global population

Its easy to always say the GP doesnt care. The reality is no matter how big the numbers are, even the most popular artists and songs are being listened by a small percentage of population because theres just that much choice available

If a tiny fraction get intrigued by all this for an artist that makes this many headliens, its potentially still a lot of streams added in total tbh

River

Spotify continues to ignore the streaming farms and the bots because they got a fat check :icant:

If it was a Kpop song they would remove these streams :huntyga:

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
