What alot of people forget is that art is subjective. There are no right or wrong responses. What I have noticed is that some people believe their opinion is FACT. In the process, making others with a differing opinion feel "wrong" or "stupid". At the end of the day, it's just music. If you like it GREAT, if you hate it GREAT. It's all a matter of taste and opinion. I'm just surprised by the amount of time and attention some people spend on something they hate, which in turn makes it more popular. Madonna once said, negative comments and reviews are still "positive" to me. They keep people talking about my work.

As I said, I have no problem with people discussing and particularly criticising Taylor here. But to have over half of the new threads posted being about her is simply insane. Especially considering the vast majority of them aren't reporting news, encouraging productive discussion or talking about anything new she's done, it's just people going 'haha guys don't you hate Taylor Swift?'.

To be clear, I didn’t see a single Swiftie come to Katy’s defense when the world was being just as petty and dragging her for ever little thing. In fact, many partook. But now that it’s their fave, it’s too much and we have a problem 

If anything, Taylor is getting much more grace than other pop girls get.

No. It's important to critique people in power and she certainly has a lot of it. I also feel like she gets flag on two sides, first her artistry, which never was good, but over the last years people started commenting on her politics more and more as well, starting with how she extracts money from her followers and now how she surrounds herself with MAGA. She's just getting what she deserves for the choices she's making, and that's totally fine.

Taylor is arguably the most famous pop star right now, she just released a new album like not even 4 days ago, and Gaga is busy on Tour. What the hell else would we discuss in this pop-culture forum? What our favorite colors are? Which breed of cat is the cutest? Our mortgage interest rates? No, we’re going to talk about the biggest pop star’s most recent album that’s not even a week old lol

I mean, we had numerous swifties coming here to talk sh-t about gaga, they  are banned now,

but swifties are not angels either.

and it's always like that when a big artist releases music, if it's katy or adele.. release week is always packed with threads, then it's stabilized..

I just listened to the album in full and The Fate Ophelia is great and I will be adding it to my playlist. Everything else is kind of meh? Lyrics are a bit cringy. But what really strikes me is how genuinely unlikeable she comes across in some songs..

Probably at times. But I do think it's fair to criticise people on things like being a greedy capitalist with no values. When criticising people lets just stick to judging their moral shortcomings
