The look with the red hair might be the first time I've ever seen her serve. I love it

Watching in a few weeks bc I don’t want to support her numbers not that it matters :ororomunroe:

for other artists, i always went to bilibili

im not gonna donate a single stream to them, that's why TLOS only debut with 250M not 300M :brat:

Approaching a subject matter or broad topic (like identity) from different angles is very different than a similar aesthetic over and over. In Gaga’s case, identity is a core theme of her artistry. I would say TSwift’s is a preoccupation with a certain aesthetic which is also whatever and fine and could be defining for her (I don’t care lol) but I do think it’s very different than a thematic preoccupation :)

and in Taylor's case performance is a core theme of her artistry, as is identity... I'm not a Swiftie by any stretch of the imagination but it's extremely lazy to just call her reductive and repetitive for doing exactly the same thing other artists are doing. She's also done so many videos that have touched into many different aesthetics anyway, but like... All of Lana Del Rey's videos are pretty much 1960s-style videos as well. The fact Taylor Swift also has many videos that do not use this aesthetic is further evidence that she does not have a "preoccupation" with it... It just so happens she wanted to do three different videos that tackled it (in 3 different ways). Wildest Dreams was about a romantic vintage hollywood film set, Delicate was about a glamourous Gatsby type hotel, and this new video is about a timeline of showgirls through history... Those are three distinct concepts... Maybe you could just say you don't get it instead of trying to drag the artist...

And I say this as someone who is not a Swiftie and who does not like her new album... But even I can admit this is a good video.

Not a big swifte but love 3 folklore tracks (& maroon) but this is a good one I love it. Probably won’t listen to the album but i dig the Charli diss song lyrics and I’m an number 1 angel myself, but it’s funny & I bet Charli is having a laugh:

Oh I’m not saying it’s a bad video at all, I liked it (aside from her dancing lmao). I just thought your Gaga comparison was slightly different than this was all lol I call it a preoccupation bc that’s what it is when an artist likes to stick with something, not derogatory. They always find themselves coming back to a thing—they’re preoccupied by it. Gaga’s is a little trickier to pin down aesthetically but theme wise Fame and Identity are her big ones. I think Taylor tends to come back to old classic opulence aesthetics as of late. No it’s not all that but it’s something she comes back to. Please don’t call me dumb bc I earnestly engaged with your comment lol

Good video actually, but it does not fit the song at all

I was trying to make sense to it but honestly dont know who Ophelia is. The video is well directed and very entertaining but i need to understand it.

Is Ophelia a showgirl? Is she suppressed showgirl of many talents? Is she living the lives of all Ophelias?

Im confused.

It is funny you say that because in her interviews she said multiple times that she wants to educate the kids about who Ophelia is, she wants to teach them about Shakespeare. Her plan is working.
