Spooky season is here - why isn't TDD smashing?

Many of us were hoping that with the advent of October and spooky season, TDD would see a significant chart resurgence. 

This was today's update:  Spotify Global - #157 (-22) The Dead Dance - 1,331,204

What is going on?

It just didn’t land with the GP as much as we wanted. It’s pretty decent imo. Bloody Mary is her true Halloween hit.

has halloween historically boosted any song to the top of the charts the same way christmas has? halloween is much smaller than christmas, it was pretty delulu to expect a significant bump for a song that isn't Thriller or the likes

I may be wrong but the song does not really feel spooky enough. Like bloody mary was eerie and abit creepy. Dead dance is more upbeat and sonically does not feel halloween

Thriller and some Ghost busters etc might have a resurgence the 30 31th. That might be about It

Tdd didn't click. How would It click for halloween. Its not even that spookey. People Will search for other popular songs. The only change Is getting playlisted.

Exactly, It worked for the scene in wednesday but It really doesn't scream halloween. Never did tò me.

And my own personal criticisms of the song itself aside (I do enjoy listening to it btw) naming a song "The Dead Dance" and creating and promoting a dance to go with it on TikTok and a massive show like Wednesday just because the Bloody Mary dance went viral, really cheapens Gaga's brand imo and it's a bit cringe seeing it play out with TDD being unnoticed.

I still enjoy the song and video, but the idea is for sure misguided.

I feel it would have taken off more of the sound was more original and something we haven't heard before (KFL, SOAM, etc) and the vibes were more spooky. That chorus is not it...

The song doesn't but the music video does.

Yeah once again the visuals are 10x darker than the actual song. 

Disease and Abra definitely matched MAYHEM's visuals but majority of the album does not.
