The 2016 hits medley would've also probably been one of the only times we would've gotten ARTPOP in a hits showcase. 

(Also, it would've gotten Duncan Bowie and Bowies fans misogynistic @sses off of us since Lady Gaga wanted to emulate Bowie instead of "staying in her lane as a woman" like Lorde did.)

i do think it's a bit garish to cosplay as someone barely a week dead. if someone did that about my parents id be livid. it was well intentioned but weird especially bc they didnt really have consultation. it's not really a feminist thing, it was just inappropriate and the family didn't appreciate it. mistakes happen, she meant well.

I'm so glad this cover exists I definitely prefer this version to this final 2018 version because the vocals feel more raw, an opinion I share with the Aura demo leak compared to the album version haha

I can see this point as well. However, a lot of the issue lies in fans of Bowie saying that she was unworthy of the role because she was a pop star, which is rooted in prejudice that views "more feminine" genres (disco, dance, pop, etc.) as being less serious and impactful than "more masculine" genres (rock, metal, country, etc.). I actually studied this a little bit for a project my senior year of college.

Sure! And that’s a totally separate thing imo worthy of being addressed in its own right as you did. I’m just saying people like to give Duncan flak for publicly calling her and the Grammys out and it’s like guys…his dad just died DAYS prior and someone he (Bowie) didn’t know or have an especially high fondness for decides to dress up as him and put on a voice?? It’s kinda morbid honestly, and beyond tasteless imo

Bowie fans suck, though lmao Bowie was glam rock. And when the chance came in the 80s he made pop music. He wasn’t some macho rock god he was a freakin puff and himself would have said as much lmfao that sounds like an interesting project you did
