The songs I instantly clicked on first listen were Elizabeth Taylor, Wood, CANCELLED! (loved this one). The rest is nice, it will grow on me.

Woooooow - yea I'm not feeling it. A few good bops in the first half but this is nothing special otherwise. Really disappointing actually - I was HYPED for this listen. 

I remember how absolutely FLOORED I was by Mayhem on first listen. Can't say the same for this at all. Oh well.

The production is so stale 

Her fans will eat it up. It's more of the same safe vocal runs and familiar melodies

Just listened in full. Nothing here is jumping out as really special. Even TTPD had higher highs and I was a vocal hater of that album. This one is never awful. It’s just never great. Shame. 

i will say I like Opalite a lot though, and see that standing the test of time in her discography.

I hate it less than I thought it would, based on some of the early reactions on here… but I don’t love it either.

The productions are safe, she still can’t sing & her lyrics often make her sound like a jackass.

But I enjoy the Elizabeth Taylor chorus.

The album should have been called Opalite imo.

Tidier title, & less douche-y than TLOASG (& TTPD before it).

Eh, it was fine. I'm not gonna pretend like it was the worst thing ever just because I don't like her. It had a pretty strong start with TFoO, Elizabeth Taylor, and Opalite. Started to lose me with the lyrics on Father Figure. After that, I was just bored. Ruin The Friendship was just odd, why's she still singing about being in high school? And I don't know if it's just me, but her cussing sounds so unnatural and forced. Really wanted to like TLOASG because I like Sabrina, but the rhyming on this song is pretty horrendous, lol

I’m a huge fan of Taylor but I listened to the whole album just now and it’s not good. There isn’t a single song I really loved. Her team marketed this like it was going to be her magnum opus but it’s so boring and I feel like she is trying way too hard to come across as a lyrical genius that it comes across as cringey. 

Her run until Folklore was legendary but the cracks in her career are clearly showing now…

I’ve been screaming since Midnights that if she did a light guitar driven pop album in the vein of Michelle Branch, full of love/life thematic songs, it would hit so well. Go back to singer songwriter turned pop star. But she needs to stop taking inspiration from her fans and their (literal) immaturity because it’s affecting the writing

Made it to the 6th song or so and usually skipped to the next one once she mentioned yet another ultra specific color.. like girl, that fire coloring pencil set you got for Christmas that one year in the 90s really gave you an edge in school.. but let it go, it's time, not everything has to be onyx, maroon or emerald green.
