This album falls short to me

Lots of instances of cringe and corny lyricism 

Melodies fall flat too for the most part of the album

That diss track about Charli XCX was unnecessary 

I guess Taylor Swift's best song this year is How Bad Do U Want Me

I fully accept at this point that the Taylor I like is the pre-Lover Taylor. 

Her current sound just doesn't hit the same. A lot of this feels lazy.

So final thoughts: 

I'm deleting Actually Romantic from my Apple Music. Cancelled! also rubs me up the wrong way. Like girl, you're nearly 40. There was real maturity on Lover through to Midnights, this feels like a massive step back. 
She's the new Madonna, because like Madonna she thinks the entire world is against her when she's literally on the top. Really proves it gets lonely up there. 
I need her to take a break before the next album.

The best songs are Eldest Daughter, Ruin the Friendship, Wood, Honey & The Life of a Showgirl.
Her harmonies with Sabrina are amazing. Sabrina's soft vocals sound amazing on that track as well.

The Fate of Ophelia isn't what I'd pick as the lead single tbh, should be the title track but she'd never lead with a duet.  
I wouldn't have pre-ordered a vinyl if she'd released any of these tracks in advance ngl.

i'm 94% sure that's her teams strategy these days

it was a bit interesting with TTPD, an almost surprise release album in which nobody knew how the album would sound

but it seems, twice in a row, it's just more of the same which destroys the anticipation... i remember being perched (in the shadows) for TTPD because the secrecy felt like she was about to bring something wildly different for her
