I only boiled it in the same pot and strained it after. Don't worry, I'm not loco - my name ain't Bella.

Okay, so I haven’t heard the “diss track” about Charli, but I’m a little confused about why Taylor would feel like she needed to respond to Sympathy is a Knife. The song is literally about Charli getting imposter syndrome around Taylor and needlessly comparing herself to her which is…if not a compliment, is certainly not an insult lmao. Like what’s the tea?

After hearing the song it HAS to be something that happened irl not ab SIK.

i think it’s the expectation like one side thinks this is just a friendship while the over finds this to be a competition and it’s just being a girl

like there isn’t one way or even a right way to be one

Idk that feels like an overly critical response from Taylor (admittedly I haven’t heard the song yet, tho). Charli admits that there’s no point in the comparison in Sympathy is a Knife, but she can’t help but feel the anxiety anyway, so I feel like anything less than consolation is just trying to gin up controversy. But I won’t know until I hear the song ofc

There gotta be something more from behind the scenes that we don't know

It's very suspicious and honestly quite disturbing that you know how a 17-year-old writes :partysick:

Oh Jilly Bean, I was young once too - a long, long, long time ago. I know what it’s like to come up with mediocre lyrics that aren’t impressive or thought provoking.

My. Lawyer. Liked. That.

It's not bad. It's actually better than MBF, and her last 3albums lol

Because it's not produced by jack Antonoff :teehee:

It's definitely a lot less adventurous or grand than I was expecting overall.  It's very light rock pop.  Not a huge departure from distinct Taylor sound as reputation.  Elizabeth Taylor is a bop!  TFOO feels like an odd choice for first single, just imo there's songs that feel more radio friendly.  But overall radio will spam her no matter what, so I guess it doesn't really make a huge difference.

Ever since folklore she just choses the opening track as the lead single, you'd be surprised her choices are worse than Gaga's for a lead, Anti Hero was the only exception because one of the actors of the video told her it would smash as a first single but Lavender Haze was the first option, but I can't imagine a world where Midnights has LH as the first single.

Edit: cardigan is not the first song on folklore but since evermore she's been following this trend

Somehow this album feels like Jack Antonoff made it. The boringness is still lingering in the air.

Well maybe Jack was not the problem duh...

To those who have heard the album already:

Production-wise... are there any tracks suitable for pole-dancing? At the very least, booty-bouncing? Even if it's basic?

Or is it all a bland snoozefest?

Imo It’s not a snooze fest,  but it is more of the same, a regular pop record from swift, nothing groundbreaking.

I know that the leaks are LQ but the album is just so boring and unmemorable, I feel like the songs just don't go anywhere at all. Also some of these lyrics lmao I was cringing during the entire chorus to The Fate of Ophelia.
