2017 SiRE Leak (?) Revisited

First off, SiRE:

SiRE is an unreleased ARTPOP song produced by DJWS. It was first teased on Twitter in May 2012, and was then sung up to four times backstage for fans at both the Born This Way Ball and the ArtRave across 2013 - 2014. The song is 99.9% believed to be about Michael Jackson due to it's lyrical content. In 2014, Lady Gaga said to fans backstage that if the song leaked she would release it, but only if it leaked. A major thread was posted in September 2014 discussing info on the song. I will link it at the bottom of this post.

 

The Leak (?):

For those who may not remember, there was an alleged leak on here from 2017 (probably July - August) that was posited as being the "real" SiRE demo as opposed to the confirmed fake 2015 demo (the one with the screaming and the glitchy sounds). The 2017 snippet was uploaded on PicoSong, a website that has been defunct since October 26th, 2019. The song was registered with a BPM of 103, which DJWS confirmed for the song back in June 2015. It was uploaded by controversial member HausRetrograde (someone who faked being the leaker Haus of Retrograde), and it was briefly before this livestreamed by another controversial Little Monster, xoxochaosangel. There was a pretty lengthy debate about whether or not it was real since it was different from the 2015 fake leak. Some people said that the finger snaps in the demo sounded remiscent of her singing it as certain dates, while other people did not remember hearing any finger snaps. One important piece of information is that the 2017 version had a BPM of 103, which DJWS confirmed the song to have. On top of this, there was a video posted in July 2017 that claimed to be a secret recording of the song from the cancelled 2017 Dive Bar leg rehearsals (infamous teased as having a "super secret setlist") that claimed to have Lady Gaga rehearsing the song. Below is the full instrumental and alleged backstage recording.

 

Barter Queen:

Barter Queen was a troll artist who was active from ~2016 - 2022. She was making intentionally messy music, and acting like she was a queen of pop while typing in a British accent (also doing the 2018 skinny meme later on). Think of the troll artist Uma Kompton, but instead of stealing an identity it was a real person. In August 2022, it was discovered that the instrumental was being used by Barter Queen in a song called "Dirty Pigeon" from August 2017. The instrumental was filtered and posted in a video (linked above), though the poster only said that it was being used by Barter Queen in a reply to a comment.

 

A Quick Timeline:

June 13th, 2012: SiRE was first teased by Lady Gaga on Twitter.

February 2013: SiRE was sung backstage at the Born This Way Ball (oddly, the exact date isn't known).

May 18th, 2014: SiRE was sung backstage at the ArtRave.

July 11th, 2014: Ditto.

August 31st, 2014: Ditto.

February 2015: Infamous fake SiRE leak surfaced.

June 22nd, 2015: DJWS revealed in an interview that SiRE has a BPM of 103.

By July 2017: Allegedly real SiRE snippet leak is posted by this time. (Again, PicoSong registered the BPM as 103.)

July 22nd, 2017: The alleged Dive Bar Tour rehearsal was posted on this date.

August 14th, 2017: Dirty Pigeon was released by Barter Queen.

August 25th, 2022: Filtered Dirty Pigeon/alleged SiRE demo was posted by SCP 0460 on YouTube.

 

So what now?:

Well, there are a few things I'm gonna say. This could be fake, and maybe it could've just been a leak of Barter Queens song before it was released that was used as a fake leak. It also very well could've been something fan made like the infamous 2015 fake leak that was made to fool people. On the other hand, it could be real. The leak has the same BPM that DJWS teased. SCP 0460 theorizes that maybe the concept instrumental was sold to Barter Queen, though it would be odd to sell it to a relatively unkown person (though that happened with Addison Rae too so who knows). The 2017 Dive Bar Leg and Joanne B-Side are shrouded in mystery. The Joanne B-Side was stated by Lady Gaga at one of the meet and greets in 2017 to be an idea she was toying with after singing Frankenstein a capella. Earlier this year, one of Lady Gagas dancers came forward who confirmed that this B-Side was real and was cancelled due to Richy Jacksons negligence (along with the 2017 Dive Bar Tour leg). I personally DM'ed Barter Queen on Instagram to ask if she did in fact re-use an instrumental from Lady Gaga and DJWS, but she hasn't been active since May 2022 so I doubt that I will get a reply (it's already been a few days).

You're the only person I know of who heard it that either isn't banned or is still reasonably active lol. Do you have any input.

If anyone else knows anyone who heard the song backstage or was at xoxochaosangels livestream let me know! Someone who used to be active on here said that the livestream matched with the leak, but they haven't been active since 2022. ):

The Michael Jackson references is what I remember most, I was lucky that she sang it a cappella backstage at the Artrave I went to & although can’t say I remember the lyrics I do remember the lyrics were very ‘tongue in cheek’ like using a lot of his song titles in a fun way

The dive bar rehearsal recording is 100% fake, the reverb effects are from audacity and the sounds at the beginning are from a fanmade demo
