Canadas largest bank RBC has fired an employee after it was discovered the employee was snooping into the Canadian Prime Ministers (who is their client) personal banking info without approval

I called the bank today about a situation, and the conversation shifted to the guy asking me why I was purchasing so many vintage Pokemon cards and then he asked for advice on where to find good deals. It felt a bit unethical.

Something similar happened in Slovakia few years ago. Bank employee looked into minister's bank account, found that some oligarchs were sending him hundreds of thousands euros, but then the employee was fired and court found him guilty and was sentenced to prison. And the minister is still in his position

I mean ok, he should have not been snooping. But even so, if he discovered something sketch the evidence should still be used

 

Him going to jail should not prevent the minister from also going to jail

 

In the case of Canada, Mark Carney is a relatively wealthy business man, employee probably couldnt resist but to check whats in his blind trust fund since that was a whole thing

Didnt some GGD member work as a pharmacist and claim they were able to check Lady Gagas prescription on data base?

 

I mean good chance that was attention seeking but also entirely plausible as I can 100% see a little monster snooping in data base if they find out Gaga uses one of their companies services

It is illegal. But not sure how much trouble you get into of you didnt do anything with the data and it may also depend on whether the victim chooses to press charges

 

I suspect PM Carney wont press charges cuz politically it will frame him better to appear forgiving, reasonable and opposite of a dictator tyrant like south of our border

Hes actually a super intelligent PM in my opinion (probably the smartest in our lifetime) and it irritates me that some ppl (especially PP conservative supporters) wanna hate on anything Liberal so bad they wont even give him a chance

 

A lot of the issues hes trying to fix will take years to see obvious results and in the meantime were dealing with economic challenges from Trump uncertainty which are out of his control but have immediate effects and he is still in a minority Government

 

I believe he can repair some of the economic damage Canada has faced in the last 15 years but I also fear he wont be given a chance to. Most people are not smart enough or fair enough to look at these nuances, they simply get mad some stuff isnt going well and blame whoever is in charge at the time even if that person in the long run could make it better
