This girl was hungry for success for years and now that she found it she’s not wasting the momentum. She deserves this success.  Meanwhile Chappell also was grinding for years and then her debut blew up and she’s happy saying her second album could take another 5 years.  I LOvE Chappell but I wish she was a little more motivated.

I’m pretty sure she will do what Rihanna did between 2009 and 2012: 1 album per year. Hopefully she will give us something different with her next album. Otherwise… I fear for her.

My first guess is that there’s been a decline in the quality of music so now people equate time with quality. 
 

My second guess is that decades ago the audiences where not fractured, so what these artists put out was what people listened to because it was mass presented. Now with billions of songs you have many points of reference to compare different types and levels of music, so now what one artist may be putting out isn’t “quality enough” to a listener that is becoming very specific. So a turnaround time of one year subconsciously might be seen as rushed. 
 

My third guess is that artists simply started to follow the 2-3 year rule more across the board, so that’s what we are used to now.

no same like we had mariah carey making album after album in the 90s she did suffer a breakdown at the end
