Ed Sheeran debuts at #1, Jade at #3 on the UK Albums Chart

Ed Sheeran nets his ninth Official Number 1 album with Play this week, his second chart-topper of the year. 

The superstar now matches Bob Dylan, Take That and Stereophonics on the list of artists with the most UK Number 1 albums ever. 

THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY! JADE secures the biggest opening week for a debut album of 2025 so far, new in at Number 3. 

Following an extensive 'JADE Parade' tour of UK record stores, THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY! also tops the Official Record Store Chart: the biggest album of the past seven days in independent UK record shops.

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, BRITs Best Pop Act winner JADE says: "Thank you so much to everybody that has supported THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY! so far.

Tbf, this is a pretty decent score. She was never going to beat Ed in the UK on release week. But she did beat TØP in their release week and they announced that album and put it up for sale the same week as their sold out UK arena tour this year. 

And she's had a bit of American interest on socials since her support slot for Chappell in Edinburgh so she's got room for growth!

Top three is strong, especially for a debut. I just hope it picks up traction because she's a wonderful performer & human being. The album gives me The Fame vibes. Sonically & conceptually different but I get the same feeling I felt when experiencing Gaga's debut. You just know she was born to be a star. I really hope it climbs to number one. Rooting for you Jade!
