Ziggy 12,007
I’ll be honest…I’m skeptical for no reason to do with the music. The US political climate is just especially bleak and newsworthy at the moment. I don’t foresee some massive takeover the likes they’re talking about when the mood is so heavy and unlike Gaga in 2008, there’s no club culture to counterbalance it. I’m sure it’ll be as big as it would otherwise be. And I’m sure it’ll smash but I think it’s kinda naive to expect the “takeover” they’re talking about bc it’s not the vibe rn and she’s no salve to it, ns to her. But I know this is also PR speak so I take it with a grain of salt lmfao

Exactly! I'm going to sound like a huge hater but oh well. Her music is just not interesting to me and her album tracks sound the same. I see it more as a cashgrab/way to keep making money... or an obsession with charting. I'm happy for her that she can keep riding that high I guess, but I've grown to highly dislike her over the last few years because nothing she has made seems all that genuine. I mean its not genuine in the sense it has all sounded like she wrote the album as fast as she can and forgot to go back and make sure lyrics were more thoughtful and each song didn't sound the same! Also, biggest promo ever? She had bitches staring at countdowns on computer screens and calling out of work to celebrate her engagement... I don't really think she needs to be going super out of her way to promote haha, she has her fans where she wants them. Give some of that space to other artists Edited Friday at 03:48 PM by Alxjcgn

I'm not a part of her audience so I can't relate but don't they get fatigue? She's been active since idk 2006, and she's already at her 12th album and some of those are bloated as hell, also the re-records and everything. She's making crazy money and huge numbers too but I'm still astonished, after all these years, that probably the most commercially successful female popstar ever has nothing to offer me but everyone else seems to get it. She probably isn't the sole reason for this... but I buy a lot of concert tickets and go to a lot of shows. Never saw her.. BUT I will say I noticed a rapid increase in prices for any concert around the time her Eras tour started. Probably wrong here, but I strongly believe her tour played a role in teaching ticketmaster/livenation what they could get away with by dynamic pricing and overcharging tickets. Or if anything- she and her fanbase normalized spending thousands of dollars for a concert

Moreover, concert tickets are getting pricier after pandemic, cos people are famished with live entertainment and traveling during 2 years of lockdown and gonna pay however much it cost to finally enjoy one, not because of Taylor. HomoMonsterions 428
I stopped following her around 2017and blocked her name from all of my social media, so I didn’t know she had released many albums since then or re-recorded her old ones. I also didn’t know she was on tour until she came to my neighbouring country and I saw some of my friends attending. I didn’t even realize it was the biggest and most popular tour ever or learn about her general news (for the past many years) until this year, when I started paying more attention to the 'pop scene' because gaga released a new album. So what I want to say is, it’s doable. In this digital age, you can tweak your algorithm to only get news you’re interested in. It’s not like in 2010, when they stuffed you with gaga news daily whether you liked it or not, because her face was plastered all over newspapers and TV and you couldn’t escape her. And I’m ready to not open any taylor threads on here or reddit when her album comes out, until the era has passed
