Feels more like a criminal metaphor about a forbidden/taboo affair than anything explicitly political tbh

yeah, maybe I don't remember it too correctly. I can't find the actual post, but I found these:

"Sexxx Dreams can be interpreted in a few different ways, and I think there is an underlying political message in the lyrics. While it’s an undeniably fun song, there are still political undertones of forbidden sexuality that can be seen in society today (just look at what’s going on in Russia). With lyrics such as “We could be caught / we’re both convicted criminals of thought,” it’s easy to see the parallel to situations like that in Russia, where homosexuality is, for all intents and purposes, illegal. "

"Love the Orwellian "we're both convicted criminals of thought" moment, which is a reference to the dystopian staple novel 1984, a book that I recommend if you want your perception of politics and society ****ed up forever. "

"Sexxx Dreams" talks about bisexuality as a crime using direct references to "1984," George Orwell's novel.

So it's very possible it's a real reference, but maybe it isn't significant enough for me to include it in a "politics" category. Maybe I need to add a "literature references" one :sis: But can that count as "theme", that's the question :p

I mean, you could probably implicitly lump a huge swath of her discography into the “political” category if we’re being this broad lol

Did you do DEATH/KILLING ?

killah, monster, aura, replay, Joanne, kill for love, dead dance, killah, die with a smile

what else

I get what you mean, and sometimes I didn't find it easy to decide where to draw the line in a consequent way, but I feel like those songs, even though they mention killing, aren't ABOUT killing, that's why I categorized them differently.

Sure, I just thought it was a little funny to see two overtly political songs (Americano + Angel Down) next to Sexxx Dreams :ladyhaha:
