Though, for the sake of discussion, if this is something Gaga is legitimately in the running for, I actually hope she doesn't take it. I know there is a lot of evidence and arguments about what Cleopatra's race really was, but I feel like the general public isn't going to look too deeply into that. They're gonna be like "Oh, that's weird. I thought Cleopatra was an Egyptian...Gaga seems like a weird choice." I feel like it'll just garner some unnecessary controversy. To be clear, I think she'd kill the role—and I think Villeneuve is a great director—but I can see this causing a lot of headaches. Addison Rae 16,905 Posted Sunday at 03:10 PM Share Posted Sunday at 03:10 PM (edited) if i were gaga id stop choosing these safe awards bait films, it hasn’t worked for her since asib. she should go for artsy a24/left field type gigs. a smaller budget film with cult classic status seems like a better option than a cheesy blockbuster that nobody with taste will like. plus these films will allow her to show her acting chops to their full potential and continue building up her reputation as a solid actress. Edit: Ok it seems like well documented and well supported that cleo was of Mediterranean descent. Still fear that some people wont be able to look past that point.
