LadyxGaGa 2,292
im trying to read up on it and i found a excerpt in an edu article from last year and it basically sums up with ticket master having a monopoly artists can usually opt in or opt and some even have control over the parameters of when dynamic pricing and be set in and etc etc https://news.northeastern.edu/2024/10/02/dynamic-pricing-ticketmaster-oasis-taylor-swift/#:~:text=Dynamic pricing has become common, and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. 2
lastpopicon 36,989
We all should ask this: does Gaga wants to charge high prices? The answer will be probably no. And looking at other artists at Interscope is not hard to imagine its something they force on the big artists, because that's the main way a label makes money nowaydays. I find that explanation making much more sense than gaga wanting to charge high ticket prices on her fans. I wouldn't even be surprised there's something in her contract that she can't discuss ticket prices, labels are ruthless. She and Michael are credited as “Executive Producers” Live Nation is listed as the main producer / promoter. “Executive Producers” are the credit given the the main creative force or give as courtesy credits to the names who can help sell something. In TV the executive producer is the show runner (the person who is the head writer and makes all the creative decisions), which is likely Gaga and Michael’s role here. Even in film “Executive Producer” is mostly a courtesy credit given to executives or to a celebrity who has agreed to endorse the project (like Tom Hanks or Quentin Tarantino have been given this credit even though they don’t really work on something just because they want to support it) Executive Producers aren’t generally the party financing something. Thanks for the explanation! To be clear, I wasn't trying to be critical of her, but I did remember her and Michael being listed as executive producers. I'm not in the entertainment industry, so I didn't realize the difference between a producer and executive producer. She/Her/Hers

I do work in the entertainment industry so I have more of peek into this stuff than some people and it isn’t obvious at all to from the face of the credits. There’s so many too: producer, executive producer, associate producer, line producer, consulting producer, co-producer, creative producer, and they all do different things! 1

Gagaism 12,000
Lol like, I love her but we can’t just avoid the fact that she’s aware of anything about her career, cmon Even if she’s not directly involved with the financial part of the productions, at least, she knows what her fans are talking about and that’s how she’s been able to fulfill a lot of demands from fans when it comes to music… look at her moves towards ARTPOP through the years, or what LMs are expecting her next record to sound like or even small direct responses she randomly sends on social media out there, as some examples… so of course, she knows what’s going on and if it’s her choice not to do anything about it then there’s probably a reason we don’t know and that’s another story.

I don’t remember saying that. I call hypocrites as hypocrites. Cult member behavior is real and it is not only in Gaga community, it’s everywhere and it’s scary. I believe being a hypocrite is more rude than calling out hypocrisy.
BloodyM 1,271
We have to realise that she one of the biggest artists atm, therefor her prices are going to be high. I totally get that this time, some prices were insane. And I hate that the standing area is seated. She's at the height of her fame, this tour is very expensive, she had a massive team, everything nowadays costs double.....it sucks but this is the reality we are living in.
