She's literally such an inspiration for how to handle and evolve your voice... over the course of her career you could always tell what she wants to build on (f.e. controlled grit, high belts) and what she struggles with (f.e. sometimes intonation on high belts and falsettos). This era (and also Happy Mistake IMO) you can really see her as an evolved artist who really knows herself and her voice and how to take care of it.

Love her so much!!! 🖤🩶🤍

VIY really is one of the best songs she's ever released. Hate that it will never get single treatment. This was insane

Is this her way of saying that the label and Netflix forced her hand to make The Dead Dance as a single for all the promo when she doesn’t really care about it and would rather give her fans what they actually want?

Baffles me how some of you think Lady Gaga is Britney Spears (no hate) / an indie artist trapped somehow inside a massive record label

Damn. Just damn. Even if this song won't be the last single (and it deserves it like none other, even if there are some songs on Mayhem I love even more), I think we can safely say it will remain in the mind of this fandom as something very impactful and our own last single.

I've been getting messages from my deep waters

Out of all the moments this MAYHEM era has (and will) give us, I’m saving this one. Pure magic.

Stunning vocal performance as always.

anyways, if my memory is correct, Vanish Into You achieved a TV performance in the US before the singles Perfect Illusion & Die With A Smile. Congrats fan favorite VIY. :applause:

I can totally see this being the final single of the era with a music video similar to the visuals behind her (maybe even some home footage of her and Michael) and then have it end with a close up of their hands together and her ring.

I think this would be the perfect single for her to release and go on a 10 year hiatus where she can have a family and get married, and probably just do things behind the scenes like write and produce with younger acts that grew up with her.

As beautiful as this sounds they seem to be pretty reserved with their relationship so I doubt something like this could happen. A fan video with all the interactions during the tour tho? Would be a cute goodbye to the era and the tour as well.

I love that she performed Killah, Zombieboy and Vanish Into you for tv even if they were not proper singles. She gave us variety and unexpected.

Oh yes I was

Why would she be in the same position 12 years after? Didn't she already show all of us she's capable of doing pretty much whatever she wants to at this point

This is probably my favorite performance of the entire era! I can't even put into words how I’m feeling right now! I've listened to it three times now and I'm still mesmerized, I've been hoping for an stripped-down arrangement version of VIY since Mayhem was released. I love you Gaga, thank you for this. For a brief moment, I genuinely felt happy just to be alive

What an unbelievably beautiful interpretation of an already emotional song :bradley: This performance reminded me of the days when I was 15 and just discovered Gaga. Her fashion, the perfect live vocals while dancing, her unapologetic ways... I was in awe. But it was her piano performances that had me in tears. Raw passion, emotion, skill and dedication to music. Viva la Gaga

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

I agree she definitely has much more control now than she did then. I also think it would be a waste to not milk Wednesday for all the promo they can.

I just have a hard time believing that if Wednesday wasn’t a thing, that she would be picking The Dead Dance to be a single. It’s obviously trying to recreate the Bloody Mary craze which again, is smart, but tired.

i wouldn’t be surprised if Netflix was pushing for and fronting the cost of the music video and promo. It just doesn’t feel like it has the umph and passion behind it like a typical Gaga single does.
