Better MV: Stupid Love or Dead Dance?

These music videos from this decade seem to be the most divisive amid fans. 

Some LMs think the iPhone partnership and “filmed on iPhone” made the SL video appear cheap along with the outfits and song itself.

Some LMs think Tim Burton didn’t go all out with directing the Dead Dance video and that nothing really happened in the video and that it, along with the song, is “childish.”

Which video do you prefer?

I’m happy to rewatch TDD. But you’ll have to force me to watch Stupid.

TDD might be a little boring/simple, but it doesn't look actively cheap like SL. As far as I'm concerned, they're not even in the same league, because TDD is much, much higher quality.

EDIT: It's important to clarify that I really do like both, Stupid Love so much fun, was my first ever Gaga pop video as a fan, and has some great costumes. Similarly, I love TDD's ridiculous campy energy, and think it fits the song perfectly. But both very obviously do have their flaws, and I think that SL's are a little more damning.

TDD is by far the better video. It might be boring but it’s visually better to watch. 
 

Stupid love looked so cheap and plain. I’m still in disbelief nobody even tried to change the color of the sand/sky. And who approved the power ranger costumes?

I love both! But i think its SL for me, that song and the whole Chromatica era means so much to me. The video is so vibrant and joyful, its one I’ll always go back to when i need to feel better

Ok, the Dead Dance may not be 911 or Bad Romance but its still way better than SL and its Dollar Store props and cheap background like lets not even make that insulting comparison

Stupid Love is her worst mv by a mile. TDD's is simple, but I've enjoyed it a lot more upon rewatch. It's also much more of my vibe/taste than SL.

Agreed. I could have made that music video myself with props from dollarama and done that background with screen projectors. It was actually sad to see

I voted TDD cause obvs, but I’m gonna defend SL a bit here and say that the ‘cheap’ look was on purpose given that it was taking inspiration from 60s/70s sci fi which did look like that.

Its production wasn't affected by covid, right? Cause it was released before many of the major lockdowns and social distancing measures were implemented in the US. If it wasn't, it sure looks like it was

I think you have to be ballsy and creative with plot/theme if you're going for the 60s/70s sci-fi look. At the end of the day, it was nothing more than a few dance sequences, hence it really didn't land, and the look became more of a hindrance than a benefit.

Sure. I think I remember them explaining all the different tribes in a BTS video and I was like ‘well why haven’t you said this in the actual video so we know what’s going on?’
