Because of the age restriction maybe they anticipated YouTube would flag the video. Other deaths in the rest of her video aren’t as graphic. 
 

It could also just be a tactic leaning into that social media trend where fans tell a lie about a song so people will go back and listen (like “omg did ya’ll see the Olivia shade in Sabrina’s song?), basically trick viewers into reviewing the content. It’s actually very smart and creative way to promote replay

Professional youtube accounts are allowed to edit videos without losing the stats. They shot two alternative endings

I doubt that, why would they have an alternative ending already filmed? There’s plenty of music videos (including Gaga ones) with (a lot of) blood in them and they’re not restricted

which makes u wonder what the intent is behind her public and private persona

YouTube Music hinted that there are multiple endings coming, so it’s more than likely going to switch out every few days. Really cool, imo. There’s not a lot of artists out right now really putting a lot of focus on music videos, so this is nice to see.
