At some point, they would've become aware that 1. reception and hype for Joker was going to be worse than planned, 2. LG7 wasn’t coming until March, and 3. DWAS was going to be on the tracklist. She likely timed LG7 specifically with the movie and its campaign; but, 5 years is a lot, and since she’d announced an October single on IG, I think Disease became a way to soft-launch MAYHEM while they monitored the impact of Joker 2. It set up Abra / MAYHEM well, and let her steer the narrative away from Joker to her music in the meantime. I don’t think something like Abra’s MV debut at a massive event would’ve been well-received in October (or, there was at least some risk of overexposure). Or, maybe not. KennyRichie 2,060
Let’s not forget the ultímate sacrifice Disease has to endure due Joker 2 backlash, sadly

The song would've still smashed and it would've honestly erased any talk about that flop movie...Gaga was a smaller part of it...funny how nobody considers Joaquin a flop after the movie since he was the lead but oh well

They did the right thing going all out with "Abracadabra" in 2025, not 2024.
