Let’s be real for a second. Ain't y'all tired of thinking Gaga will die at the age of 87 without being able to top Born This Way? No shade. As far as I love BTW, and as I myself evolved (but having this out of the conversation), MAYHEM is a better produced album compared to BTW, an album made on the road - many quality sound moments show flaws here and there. It's just the nostalgia attached to it, but technically it's not as perfect as we all - as a fanbase - tend to think. Oh and by the way, BTW was my top album from her til MAYHEM arrived. Not saying that you are not entitled to your own opinion, what I'm saying is: BTW has nothing to do with MAYHEM when it comes to winning AOTY or not Edited Saturday at 04:57 PM by elegidadedios

Even she admitted it recently. Nothing but love for Mayhem and I’m glad you’re enjoying it that much, but objectively it doesn’t nearly have the cultural impact BTW did back in the day. Mayhem’s not even the most culturally impactful album this year, and that’s ok. Our enjoyment of a record shouldn’t depend on its impact and the accolades it gets. Once the Scammys stopped fudging the final nominations, we saw AOTY/ROTY nominations for Love For Sale. The review committee probably removed ASIB from the final AOTY nominations as well. I hope the Jazz base shows out for Gaga. I was shocked that Jazz has such a high presence. It’s like almost 20% I think. I truly hope that they show up for Harlequin and give that album some love, and when it comes to the AOTY race, since no huge jazz record tend to be nominated, I hope some of the jazz voters go with Gaga out of name. Same with the Dance Electronic category which could add a good 5-9% of votes
LilyLark 10,106
Kendrick will win, but I suspect Gaga will get a slew of nominations and a few wins in the big categories. She's almost guaranteed to win Best Pop Album, especially as Sabrina won last year "and" the new album, while commercially is doing extremely well, isn't as well reviewed as Mayhem. And she still had a bigger chance with The Fame Monster, maybe even The Fame. I feel that now with that Beyoncé win and the new members of the Academy they’re going to do more of these “deserved after so many noms” wins like Kendrick or even indie artist that no one expects. LadyEnigma 1,243
If they push more singles, I could see it, but I think others are right saying it would be Kendrick. I think out of the pop albums mayhem is by far the front runner for album of the year.
FFXIV WhiteMage 5,944
No. They will give it to Kendrick probably but we all know Mayhem is the AOTY
