RAMROD 110,174
Pop star Katy Perry has been slapped with a hefty fine after filming a music video in a protected area without the necessary permission. The singer, who recently parted ways with her fiancé Orlando Bloom, shot scenes for her song LIFETIMES last summer in the Ses Salines Natural Park on Spain's Balearic Islands. However, environmental activists were quick to alert authorities that the crew was filming in a strictly prohibited zone. The park, which spans 40,000 acres of both land and sea across the islands of Ibiza and Formentera, requires a permit from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment for entry. As they failed to secure one, a fine was issued to Perry's production company. According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, the Balearic government has ordered the company to cough up €6,001 ($6,966). The publication reports that the fine has already been paid following the release of the music video for her single on August 8 last year. The protected area serves as a nesting spot for migrating birds and is recognized by UNESCO World Heritage. In the video, Perry can be seen dancing on the beaches in an 'area of special scenic and rural interest.' https://www.the-express.com/entertainment/celebrity-news/180112/katy-perry-fine-filming-music-video/amp (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ What it meant to be content with you (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

Bronco 12,322
A 6 thousand euro fine? This is why we say fines aren't about criminality, they're about hurting the poor.

gumzy3000 7,394
Fines for anything should be proportional to how much income you reported in your last tax return. This will make it fair. The rich get away with too much because they have the money. Only the poor and middle class suffer in the end. 6k euros is nothing to people like Katy Perry. trolly troll troll

Literally, a MV at that level costs easily 300-500k. For them the fine was only one more thing to pay for sadly
