That local stuff argument about Taylor Swift has ended like 10 years ago tbh. She's so big everywhere. The USA is her playground, that's all

The bigger doesn’t always mean the better tho

Taylor is successful because she makes some songs for the charts but she also has songs with the best songwriting by far compared to any other pop artist today. She is big but she's also very good when she tries.

I’m sorry to say this but her Eras Tour the highest grossing concert tour of all time (did it without dynamic pricing) included countries other than USA in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. She’s global and she is the biggest ever.

She’s so big that even Gaga is closing her show with a song just because it sounded like a Taylor Swift song (That’s why I hate that song sorry not sorry).

You mean the song that would be a Taylor Swift song if she had better vocals?

If anything, calling it a Taylor Swift song is not the gag many think it is — sort of perfect commentary on how marketable and replicable she is 💀

U2 360° sold 7.2 million tickets and had 110, Taylor sold 5 million tickets with 149 shows, U2 average price was $110 pet ticket, Taylor's $125.

After inflation U2 would gross $1 billion with less shows.

So overall, U2 had the most successful tour of all time.

Also, let's see if she can be the biggest artist with selling only 2 variants, regular and deluxe version. she'll never do that :icant:

Taylor reminds me of that Tik Tok sound that says “Would you rather slay so much that slay loses all its meaning or never slay again”. Like if she flood the entire top 10 of the Hot 100 for a third time it’s just meh to me.

It’s insanely impressive commercially speaking but the optics are just not noble anymore. She literally slays so much that it’s like ok I guess and I can’t seem to be impressed by it anymore.

I really don't think that's why she closes with it :air:

Math isnt mathing.

Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour:

$2,077,618,725 in 149 shows

Average per date: $13,943,750

10.1M attendance (67,785 average attendance)

$205 average ticket price

U2 (adj. for inflation):

$1,029,356,149 in 110 shows

Average per date: $9,357,783

7.3M attendance (66,363 average attendance)

$141 average ticket price

Taylor grossed more and also sold more tickets, both overall and on each individual date.

Regarding the variants, The Tortured Poets Department did 683,000 first week from SEA units alone. The only time this decade anyone other than herself has surpassed that number with their overall figures (that is, also including sales) was Adele in 2021.

Like it or not she is the biggest artist ever. It’s better to accept it sooner.

Eh I guess but if we’re also being so fr her actual *impact hasn’t been felt since she had curly hair and a guitar. When she went pop she kinda just became a faceless obelisk imo. Numbers are what they are (especially if you juice them) but idk I just feel like she hasn’t been genuinely impactful in a real musical way at *all* barring her country stuff and folklore/evermore. Everything else just kinda feels like oh yeah that one

They’re really committed to making every era a success. Now imagine a Top 20 with just Taylor songs AND Morgan Wallen. :ororomunroe:
