To be frank, I don't understand the reluctance to believe the song's legitimacy when we have so much evidence for it.

I don't think labelling it a rumour is doubting the song's existence. At this point, even the most ardent cynics like myself are believers. 

But this is the first time it's been reliably linked to a soundtrack vs a deluxe ed of Mayhem. And we also have zero firm details about the release time frame. 

Given it's not an official announcement. It throws a the cat among the pidgeons of rumours we've been relying on for hype until now. And it doesn't give firm release details. It fully deserves the rumour tag.

It being linked to a MAYHEM Deluxe album was always fan speculation. The idea of a MAYHEM Deluxe in and of itself is fully fan speculation too. The only "evidence" to suggest that that might be a thing is the unused lyrics on her website, but other than that, it's just people's hopes and dreams.

And according to the article, we do have details about a release time frame: "The song and video are expected to be released next month to coincide with her appearance in the show as Rosaline Rotwood, a 'legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.'"

This is, for all intents and purposes, a confirmation of the song's existence. It's like when trades talk about actors being "in talks" for roles and then a week later they're "confirmed" for the movie. These kinds of articles are studios' and labels' way of confirming things without actually coming out and confirming it themselves.
