Even Gaga shouldn't do these numbers, these are numbers of inflated ticket prices:Cautious:

We should stop celebrating these kind of achievements when the current economic and social situation of many people across the globe is horrible.

$2 billions went to one person, as talented as she, or any pop singer including Gaga, can be, they are not a Ph.D scientist, or gifted musician, they are simply a capitalistic machine that draining our money. we become poorer while they become richer. and among us, there are people who can't even take a shower or eat even 1 meal a day.

Fair point, I just checked how much Bey grossed with each tour. She made close to $1 Billion dollars (so half of her total) just from the Renaissance & Cowboy Carter tours alone, which were less than 100 shows combined, from 2023 to now. She's been touring for more than 20 years but made half her total gross revenue within the last three years. That's really not cool.

If only she’d lower her ticket cost so we don’t have to bankrupt ourselves for a ticket (or tour t-shirt 😭

We'll probably get the tour movie at the end of the year, but yeah, next year should be act iii and last tour of the trilogy in 2027!

To give u some perspective:

$2 billions went to one person, as talented as she, or any pop singer including Gaga, can be, they are not a Ph.D scientist, or gifted musician, they are simply a capitalistic machine that draining our money. we become poorer while they become richer. and among us, there are people who can't even take a shower or eat even 1 meal a day.

The same argument can be made for Gaga's current tour and merch prices (polyester sweatpants selling for over $110+ dollars). Ticket prices aren't inflated if the demand is clearly there and is selling. Does it make the our less accessible to the general population? Of course (and you can argue that it isn't fair, not go, etc.). But if we want to talk about cost of living, going to a concert is a luxury. Her ticket prices have no bearing on the plight of people around the world right now. Any sensible person wouldn't attend if the concert were above their means. If only the rich can afford to see Beyonce, then so be it-- it's your decision whether to spend on non-essentials or not.

because the dramatic rise in concert ticket prices has completely sky rocketed above people's incomes

an unnecessary luxury, yes but a luxury that was way more affordable not even 5 years ago and what makes it worse is that it's well known artists can opt out of this

the chromatica ball would have cost me £80ish and now the mayhem ball is £250ish for some of the worst seats

That's the point, it shouldn't be a luxury. At least not at the level it is becoming. There's still a lot of levels between basic necessities and saving up a lot and still not being able to see your favorite artist live. I can imagine this is the case for some people.

This may be true for most of Beyoncé's recent tours, but during RWT she was way more spontaneous than during her other tours.

For struggling Americans, this is at the very very bottom of their priority list. It may seem this way for the gays who want to see their faves but people who are priced out have much bigger worries than deciding whether or not to see Beyonce or Gaga live. It is such a luxury that it doesn't even warrant a debate. Just don't go and don't support the artist. It's really not much more than that.

Prices for concerts have only risen for those who sought the demand (Taylor and Beyonce) and there is nothing inherently wrong with that if those artists would rather only the rich to see them. It's your call. There are thousands of artists who are offering reasonable prices for their shows.

I am making the same argument about Gaga

Concerts are not luxury, I don't understand from where did u get this narrative, music concerts are on the same level of a blockbuster movies or an amusement parks like Universal.

They should be affordable for the middle class and up, simple as that.

Concert prices are inflated by dynamic pricing and it is a problem, it's not about affording them at all, it's about the abusive tactic to make more profit from the real worth of a ticket.

A ticket that worth $50 has been inflated into a price of $200+, that's the problem.

To conclude the argument with "If only the rich can afford to see Beyonce, then so be it-- it's your decision whether to spend on non-essentials or not." is tone deaf.

What I'm saying is that we shouldn't beg these billionaire artists to lower their ticket prices if we can't afford them. Choose not to support them and divert your dollars to other artists who offer better prices. I think we agree on the same things, but I'm saying to vote w/ your wallet. Concerts are still luxuries for gays (because if you love a megastar, they will charge fans too much to see you). But for the average person who isn't foaming at the mouth for Beyonce or Taylor, ticket prices for the 99% of other artists are still within reason.

Even though I agree with you about not buying tickets and supprting if they're overpriced, even non- hot ticket acts are overpriced now.

A band I've followed for a while that is incredibly small now has a price of $70 plus fees for nosebleeds where realistically the tickets would cost around $30 before the market started taking a turn.

This is exactly why Beyoncé is still the greatest performer: she dances less I agree (it's called having three children, getting older and still recovering from a knee injury btw), but that doesn't mean her performance is less electrifying by any means. Maybe it's a snoozefest for you, but every person i know that actually went, and not just watched clips online, diehards fans and GP alike, were in awe. What her body doesn't allow her to do she makes up for it in staging, charisma, and most importantly singing. She was always an incredible vocalist, but god damn her voice gets better and better with age. She does things with it that I've yet to hear any other pop star do, Gaga included. (And I went to every tour from them two to four times since 2012 for Gaga and 2014 for Bey, so I've heard ans seen what they can both do in person)

Also it's very funny to me how every Beyoncé hater uses the "she wants to be seen as a goddess who do she thinks she is!!". Like, again, tell you you didn't went to the show without telling me. Of course she has that aura about her, there's no denying she's a badass. But she's also very funny and goody in subtle ways, get emotional easily... Ask her fans, they'll tell you that she's the best alive, but also she's babygirl lmao And most of all, unlike let's say the OTR tour, the show is NOT about her. But people only see what they want to see when it comes to her, and not what she actually presents, like Gaga.

Now what I can agree on, is that the prices are absolutely insane, and no artist should ever charge this much, for sure. But if they do, Gaga and Bey are definitively the only ones who get close to justify it. But again, it's INSANE, for sure.

But saying that you're paying to see the same show over and over with BEYONCÉ? It's the same show but she doesn't do as much, it's the same outfits but she had maybe over 200 different outfits on the last two tour alone, you always know what she's going to to, but she always changes the setlist and she focuses on the newest albums with new performances since it's new song? Pick a struggle, I don't know.

But I know I won't change your mind, I've seen those points made by Beyoncé haters over and over again, I just find it very funny and hypocritical.

I understand the reasons why she doesn't dance as excessively or as intensely as she once did. Having children physically slows some women down and she's in her 40's now as well. I'm not holding that against her but if she doesn't have the abilities she once did, she can't be considered the best anymore. And I watched the entire show, someone recorded the whole thing and they were standing close so I literally felt like I was there, I don't see why it would make any difference if I was actually there or not. And I wasn't overly impressed by her vocals. Most songs didn't require massive vocals anyway, it was actually rare to hear her hit a big note or long note. She had a real lack of ballads that she could've shown her vocals as well. I swear she used to sing better when she was younger, her voice seems raspier now, like she's been smoking too much. I've heard from many of her fans that her vocals have been on the slide for years, like it's not where she puts her focus anymore. She's done stuff with her voice that even Gaga can't do? Beyonce always sounds like herself no matter what genre she tries to do. Gaga's voice literally changes when she's doing pop, rock, RnB, jazz, country, Beyonce has no range with her voice.

In the show, there was a point where her dancers surrounded her and did this sort of praising applauding thing (Blue also got a long ovation from the dancers just because she's her daughter, which was so bizarre). All her interludes make her look like queen of the world, her whole theme is being a badass who's the best. Totally different to Gaga having a theme of growth in her shows and opening up about being vulnerable and afraid and trying to be relatable to the rest of us. I don't get what makes her "silly and goofy" as you say. She's always been so perfect and rehearsed, she isn't one for letting herself go. Being classy and composed has always been her thing, has it not? When I think of a singer acting silly and goofy on stage, I think of Gaga's zany personality during artRave. When has Beyonce ever been that loosey goosey? And if you're trying to say that the tour is about being accepted into the country genre as a black person, Beyonce is literally one of the most successful and respected artists of all time, she's had hits and awards for miles. She's acting as if she's just been given acceptance. Anyone who isn't a country artist trying to get into the country genre for just one album won't exactly be welcomed with open arms and it's entitlement to think you will. Gaga wasn't accepted by them when she did Joanne. You can't just expect the red carpet rolled out for you when you're just doing one experimental album coincidentally at a time when country's made a comeback. The country community doesn't have to like an album just because Beyonce made it. Her album is definitely more fusion that full country anyway. Nothing wrong with that but it's no surprise an album that does a personal and unique take on a genre won't be liked by everyone in that community. And by the way, Kacey Musgraves was the darling of the country music scene until she did one more pop infused album and suddenly, the country academies didn't want to nominate her anymore as they didn't see her as country enough. Any lack of acceptance Beyonce's had is because she didn't do the most authentic take on country, nothing more.

The only thing we can agree on is the prices are too much? Surely you don't think the interludes were a bit excessive? Like I said, close to 5 minutes per interlude and there were 8 of them, so over half a hour's worth. All so she could change outfits. She didn't need that many costume changes or rests between songs. And the interludes didn't even involved a recorded version of one of her songs, just spoken narration or ambient sounds. It could've at least been 5 minutes of some fan faves that she didn't perform live. To have so much of it devoted to interludes was a total scam in my book for the price of tickets. Act 3 and 4 were the longest drag as well, by far the most boring parts of the whole show with some of the weakest songs. She couldn't even switch it up every other song to keep a better rhythm going.

It's a diluted form of what she used to do is what I mean. By same outfits I mean she always has the same style and she shouldn't need to change them as often as there's no meaning behind a lot of these changes. Her setlist may be almost completely focused on the new album but she still pulls out all the usual shenanigans she's always done with the rest of the choices.

If she was doing all of this at decent prices, fair enough. But to hear of people dropping hundreds and for 1.6 million people to show up to a mere 32 dates is insane. Why do this many people still crave to see her live? She can't even turn out mega successful albums anymore but her PR of "greatest living performer alive" makes people turn out year after year, even though they're no longer buying the albums that the tour's supporting. I feel bad for anyone going to her show for the first time expecting to hear the hits and having to endure every song from that bloated album which only contained one song the public at large know. It just makes me so bitter that Gaga's never been able to have tour grosses like this, even though she deserves it so much more.

that's why this is a bitter pill to swallow, especially knowing dynamic pricing is OPTIONAL. but if you want to defend the rich getting richer rather than people having access to entertainment and art, go ahead...

mother, what must i do?

It just makes me so bitter that Gaga's never been able to have tour grosses like this, even though she deserves it so much more.

Yeah, you summed it perfectly, bitter seems to be the word. Everything you say just proves that despite watching the whole show, you didn't actually see it. Again, I saw her four times on this tour alone, so I'm not pulling things out of my hat, I comment on things I actually seen and heard.

Won't comment much on the outfits changes, first time i'm hearing it as a negative thing (especially from a Gaga fan lmao) and you just have to look at her wardrobe to know your argument is null. But new outfits for every act is normal for pop show, and would have she not done it, you probably would have called her lazy, uh?

Same for the interlude, no there weren't excessive. They were telling the story of the show. Which isn't about her only btw. You apparently don't know the whole story (or don't want to know it more like it), but the CMA debacle wasn't just "country artists don't like Beyoncé". They deleted all things regarding her on their website and socials, and some people in the audience went as far as to shout slurs at her. So yes, it was the starting point, it ignited the fire for that album, but the story she tells in the show is larger than that. But yeah, it's a Beyoncé show, so Beyoncé will be the visuals focus on most of them. Doesn't mean they don't have meaning and aren't entertaining at the same time.

Saying that watching a recording and being there is basically the same? :ladyhaha: How can a recording, especially an amateur one, can capture the energy of the crowd, the vibration of the sound, the dancing and singing with people around you, having the freedom to look everywhere to see all details of the stage, the light hitting you, hell, even the waiting the hours prior and the excitation that came with it? Let's be serious lmao you can have an idea of the show, but living it will always be VASTLY different.

Also laughing at the idea that an album has to be successful for people to turn up. You might not like it, but they wouldn't turn up if the show wasn't good. That many people at that price? This is not "PR". Otherwise they would have stopped coming a long time ago, since according to you she does the same thing and sell it the same way. They would have found out the imposture. No, these are people who knows exactly how great of a show she puts on.
